Great analysis.. I would like to add one more point: Maratha were keeping females, children, pilgrims and many non-regulars along with army which became a big liability at the last moment. Keeping the unnecessary overheads always have impact on the success of the company.

The CEO needs a complete overhaul in his thinking.. While he quotes the Panipat battle as it progresses, the conclusions or lessons that he draws from them smacks of tunnel vision.. Go and read the Art of war or CSV, before you write another book or make another strategic move for your company..God bless... ur employees

Fantastic Article

Two things can be learnt from the article -
1. How one can win from a situation of distress and staring at defeat by intelligently using your reserve ideas/plans and make it into a winning situation when it looks as if you are lost the battle
2. The critical is do beyond the 'un expected' means when the opponent knows the ways you would perform, outsmart him with the strategies he never dreamed even in his wildest dreams.

Some 40 years back I was a captive audian in a lecture Hall. the subject for the lecture was effective management. Who is or was the best manager. Is he born as a manager or is made as a manager.MBA was not there at that time. The lecturer gave the quote from Mahabharatha. Lord Krishna selected the Kurukshethra battlefield when conches were being blown and war drumms were beaten just before start of the first arrow, he found the ideal time give the highest philosophican Upadesa to the mighty warrior Arjuna-the emergence of Bhagath Geetha
