Thank you Deepak for your wise(!) analysis. But I'm very sorry to say even Mr.Ratan Tata doesn't think in the same line of you. Refer to his open letter to the people shortly after their exit from West Bengal! I guess u r a bengali from Kolkata & thats why for u the most important thing is election result. But India doesn't think like you. So let me assure you if in future Mr.Ratan Tata contests in a poll against Mamata anywhere in India (outside bengal) mamata will definitely be smashed to dust. I'm not sure what will happen in WB, but it is not surprising as West Bengal always do exact opposite what rest of India do! So just sit firm on your politics and watch TATA NANO to grow. Because u ppl dnt have the power to stop our country from developing.Just continue BANDH in WB.
Thanks

It's not Mamata, it's Buddhadeb's failure. When something good happens, the credit goes to the state govt. then the failure should go to the state govt. too. State govt. failed to do it's homework and taken everything for granted and that's what they got in return. You are saying like that, Mr. Debasish but the election result does NOT. So you are wrong.

Even I say, it is Communists failure. They are playing different in state and central. They are not favour to privatise Delhi, Mumbai airports. They are not favour to sell loss making PSUs (which are eating all our tax money). But the same people want to encourage enterprenures (TATA Motors) in WB. So, no political party supported communists when Singur crisis happened. Finally they paid for they dual polictics at different levels.

Now comes the free gaddi
by Anjan Seal on Mar 23, 2009 10:14 PM

On a lighter note...anybody who has seen the movie Golmaal will remember Ajay Devgan's annoying offer to the college professor "Chaddi ke sath Gaddi free". With Nano launch the reality of marketing companies making such offer has moved closer to such an offer.

Enjoy!

Longlive Mamata banerjee -The saviour of oppressed
by Avik Bose on Mar 23, 2009 08:59 PM  | Hide replies

When thousands of poor farmers were being evicted forcefully without any compensation, the entire urban elite class of India may turn their face away and dream for owning car without caring what was happening to fellow countrymen........but it is Mamata didi who fought for those helpless people and protect their rights and lives..........those who ride on the chariot of capitalism cannot feel the pain of those ill-fated people who are being crushed under its wheels ...............

The people of West Bengal deserve a collective punishment. Those who wanted Nano and industrialization but are lazy enough to let Mamata and her band of hooligans spoil the image of Bengal and Bengalis, and prevent industries from setting shops in Bengal for another 10, 15 or 20 years, deserve this punishment, to let their educated children go outside Bengal to earn livelihoods, and let Bengal rot. And those who wanted Nano out, because they had little to gain out of it, but loved to see others lose, let them and their children dig and go down into deeper and deeper holes. Those who are arguing about fertile land being taken away, don;t understand that Bengal lies in the Ganges basin and hence most of its land are fertile, and industries need to be closer to city to be sustainable. In Gujarat, people working in the Tata Plant will live in nearby cities like Ahmedabad. Tatas need not have to build townships for them, which adds to the cost of a low priced car like Nano and makes it impossible to hold to the 1-lakh price tag. Unless it is big industries like integrated steel plants like Durgapur, Bhilai or Jamshedpur, it doesn't make sense to build supporting infrastructure, but to depend on infrastructure already available in cities or towns nearby. The ignoramass of Bengal deserves a collective punishment.

Avik,

I think you are more than Mad cow Mamata. Out of 13000 farmers, 11000 took compensation, Mamata gave just 825 farmers name as unwilling farmers, rest can not take money due to legal problem. And you are talking about forcefully evicted. Go and lick Mamata's ass, it is better for you.

did anyone ever stop Mamata to ask compensation on behalf of the Poor.... No body stopped her , its only she whos stopped poor people to get good money and a high standard of life only to win a Political status...the only winner of this whole episode is selfish Mamata..she used all those poor people and deprived them and their children a good education , good money and a healthy food for their future...
