One should not complain against Shiv Nadar's daughter being elevated so long he controls the largest share. But it is far more sensible for him to first get her groomed few years before passing on the mantle. The difference between HCL & IBM PCs are the labels. IBM labels are replaced with HCL label. Mr Shiv Nadar, Coimbatore, TN born was first to bulid PCs in India during Mid 80s. When he started HCL, the names of Infosys Narayana Murthy, Wipro's Azim Premji were not heard. Truly Mr Shiva Nadar, India's Bill Gates.

Accepted Nadar has done many good works. But telling him as Bill Gates etc is a typical tamil sycophancy of giving sops to Tamil Names Naming one's own son as "Stalin" (Which is not even an Indian name - Its the name of a Tyrant!)
Anyway before that there were number of small players in branded PC market ex: Siva PCs. So, Nadar can not be thought in the same plane as Narayana Murthy who invented India's first COBOL compiler.

Speaking of names, how about Mr. Shiv Nadar using his caste name? I personally like it; I think just by using caste name as surname, one doesn't become casteist. Mr. Karunanidhi and his govt., has been advocating against using caste names and have removed names from streets bearing caste names. By the way, except Tamil Nadu, every state in rest of India, people do use their caste names as surnames.
We did some services to HCL more than 1 year back of value 3 Lakhs and we are still waiting for payment , feedup with making visites and calling , Hope the new CEO releases payment to all vendors like us , but they may go bankcrup if they do as HCL is eating using other peoples money
if we are typing on a keyboard today sitting in front of a pc, its because HCL also designed a pc and keyboard way back in 1979-80 in their own R&D Department in a small office in Nehru Place. When you swap at the ATM and get instant money you need to thank HCL for it (remember standing in que in a bank to withdraw money?)Mr. Nadar has brought technology to the common man's benefit. mind you he wont take the 600 crore when he dies, but definitely may be your own child will seek admission in the university he has build with the money he earned

if u are typing in a keyboard u must thank thesilicon valley of AMERICA and not HCL which is a bogus company.ATM has been invented by texas instruments and IBM played important role in developing software for it. HCL did not play any role in bringing ATM
