Strike by truckers and oily people
by Kalidas Sawkar on Jan 11, 2009 09:39 PM  | Hide replies

After the harrowing experience of 26/11, it is almost criminal for truckers and oily people to hold the whole country hostage to satisfy their greed. The demands of truckers are unreasonable and unpractical, and the oily people such as ONGC staff are already over-pampered. I happen to have a brief idea of their salaries, perks, leaves, bonusses, among other things, which are way above what rest of the PSUs are having. They are probably next only to the babuuuus in being overspoilt.

The Government should treat these strikes on par with terrorism attacks for holding the entire nation to ransom.(attack on quality of life of an ordinary Indian citizen).

If u do not know do not bark. your money, yes, this money of common man which is funded by government for oil exploration. ONGCian multiplied in several fold. If some one buy ONGC shares just 3 yrs ago his money is more than doubled. ONGC is paying 400 % divident. How? As ONGCians are doing good job. There is no pay hike, even yearly increments are almost freezed since last 12 yrs. Now you will see what will happen this R S Pandey (Petroleum Secratry) who will run ONGC, IOC and GAIL etc PSUs. This guy will destroy these PSUs which is built by your money. Hey guy it is your money on the stake now. Politicians are sucking these PSUs already. When Sonia's relatives comes to visit India than PMO phned PSUs that an Italian delegation is coming and you have to bear all expenses travelling, eating and staying. Ministers, MPs and MLAs and their family and relative also looting these PSUs. They do not want to loose their clutches from these companies. ONGC and other PSUs are facing acute shortage of experienced/expert officer as due to the pathatic view of Government about the promotion and salary of ONGC officers and workers. All have joined private companies who are offering a very good package to them. Now ONGC and other PSUs are working like a training centres which is producing experinced experts for Private companies. This your own money which will be destroy now. We have enough talent to servive and now will leave ONGC and will get Good salary. now u will face the music.

Kalidas Sawkar, it has always been fashionable to lambast people for demanding anything. What has 26/11 got to do with truckers or oil company's strike? 26/11 was permitted by a sleepy government to happen and because they failed to arm the police well. They all have got higher salaries and even then neglect the most serious matter of national security. I do not what you do, but if you are a businessman, you cannot have got anything done without paying bribes, now what about the one who pays and who receives bribes, are they not terrorists. What about the poloticians who are allowing Daud's henchmen to carry on their business in India, are they better than terrorists. You will know why people go on strike when you run into government officials. They ignored the demands of the employees of oil companies and the truck union because it is government policy to show off the government's strength by making people go on strike before doing anything at all. Today nothing happens unless you go to the extreme, government does not listen, it does not talk, and when it opens it mouth it is to hold out threats. In this so called democracy, dialogue has come to an end, unless you are pally with the political top order.
