India and Innovations
by Anumakonda JAGADEESH on Feb 22, 2009 10:21 PM

It is not that India lacks real innovators but where is the recognition and reward for true innovators? There are excellent innovative brains right from school level, in rural areas, industry etc., What is lacking is strict patent laws to protect the innovations of individuals. In India many a time imitation but not innovation become the order of the day. For example dissimilar but true from distance like brand names SANY for SONY, Basha for Bata etc.,. It costs a lot of money to patent a product which individual inventors find it difficult to meet.

Although it was designed by Indian engineers, the company that pumped cash into its development is a foreign one.
There fore it =has full rights to register its patent where ever it wants to.
It is not an In Indian development or product.
India is not ready or willing to spend money on development and research.
GOOD LUCK TO GENERAL ELECTRIC.
