hello!I am a Chinese! Can we be friends and make a better future?
by Guest on May 07, 2009 10:49 PM

Our nation is not so good.We will try our best to make it best!Thank you for all your advices.
Our people's income per capita is also lower than those in Japan, Singapore,South Korea and even. This is our shame. The only thing we can do is just to work harder and harder.Chinese people do not like to brag. This is our national character. This is why statistics show rediff.com browser has a high proportion of Chinese people, but very few of them leave messages. For example, I often visit rediff.com, has been two years, and this is the first time I talk. Because I find it difficult to get here to see a lot of relatively rational Indians.I hope you can do more and talk less extreme statements made, to work, to patriotic action.

india a close market?
by Lal on Feb 21, 2009 10:35 PM

India cannot have it both ways. They are ok with other companies moving their jobs to india but do not want to open up markets to china? Either friggin opent the markets or keep them closed. Building protectionism is not going to help india.
China had to close 70,000 factories due to slowdown in USA and they are now looking for other markets to make up for that shortage. India can do the same and open up their factories elsewhere. We need an open free market in india.

The only way to have India open its market is by force
by Sonderaj on Feb 18, 2009 08:58 PM

This is what the Brits did 300 years ago, and could be the reality now. Media in india is fanning anti-china fumes daily. It's people blindly believe they're a equal nation to china, while in reality it is a SUB-country.

Why do we need Chinese Junk? What does China provide that Indians can not produce, sometimes a bit more expensively? Dear Rediff readers, let us all take a collective vow to boycott all chinese trash, especially toys which are so harmful to health of our dear young ones!

Wrong!

Jan 2009 exports actually rose by 6.8% year-on-year, taking into account the impact of 7-day long Chinese New Year Holiday. While the slowdown in exports might reduce this year's real growth rate to about 8-9%, the Chinese economy will be the FIRST to recover from the current global crisis, as evidenced by the Chinese stock market which is up nearly 30% so far in 2009.

Starlee, India is open and transperant democracy. That it hasnt progressed is due to its casteism. Last thing to do is stifle open debate. In fact foreign interest shows India is still on the map. If we can get more foreigners exposed and interested in things Indian, India benefits. The time to draw a line is if foreigners start preaching or berating India and introducing divisiveness. Then we not ask them to leave, we kick them out.

China our Enemy
by rahul sales on Feb 18, 2009 12:33 PM

It is remarkable step taken by our Government by barring import from China. China is our strong competitor and thus we should not faciliate them to make their economy strong.
