Budget
by Ajay Deshpande on Feb 17, 2009 11:00 AM  | Hide replies

A low profile but decisive budget. Whether anybody agrees or not Congress party is politically more matured then other parties. Though they do very little things they pretend that they are doing many things especially for the common man.

Maturity and Restraint
by Narendra Walavalkar on Feb 17, 2009 10:41 AM  | Hide replies

Government has shown maturity and restraint while submitting this Budget-Bill. I have some reasons (listed below) to make this statement.

1.      No major poll promises which will affect economy adversely.
2.      No special favors to stack market which has its own reasons to cry.
3.      FM thinks Industrial sector has to learn from their own failures, government is not there to bailout this sector every time at the cost of common man.
4.      Present Government has not intruded in the prerogative of future government to decide on the budget for next three quarters.
5.      No firework but some groundwork.

govt has spent over 100 crores (AND STILL SPENDING) giving full page color ads. in national newspapers showing pictures of sonia gandhi who has no position in govt.

WHEN THOUSANDS OF FARMERS ARE DYING AND MILLIONS DONT HAVE ONE SQUARE MEAL, SUCH SPENDING TAX MONEY ON SYCOPHANCY SHOWS THE COMPLETE INSENSITIVITY OF THE GOVT.

PLEASE PROTEST AGAINST SUCH WASTE USING TAXES PAID BY THE RICHEST TO THE POOREST, IN PROMOTING AN INDIVIDUAL, ON FEEDBACK ON WEBSITES OF PM AND PRESIDENT.

PEOPLE, IF YOU CARE FOR THE POOR, PLEASE TELL GOVT. TO STOP THIS MADNESS NOW!!!!

Difficult times....
by Aditya on Feb 17, 2009 10:16 AM  | Hide replies

One must understand the extraordinarily grave situation a government(irrespective of what political parties it is comprised of) on the country as whole is in. You have to compare how you are managing your home economics in this difficult time to that what govt. is doing. It is very easy to ask for more money, more jobs, more tax soaps and so on...
We must take into account the big holes to govt.'s pocket created by excise reduction, Interest subsidy to export sector, not meeting targets of tax collection n last but not the least sixth pay commission.

Politicians - Disaster
by investor on Feb 17, 2009 10:16 AM

Most of these 65 plus politicians should be in old age homes or mental asylums. They are a burden to the country.
