In the midst of bad news and more bad news, some encouraging news at last. Healthcare should always be free of political games and Tamil Nadu appears to have achieved that. I remember reading about the success of family planning in TN. It has the lowest population growth rate ( after Kerala ), thanks to the vigorous promotion of Family Planning by all political parties.
Such things can be emulated across the nation. Why talk of Tamil and non Tamil in this context ?

You are right. That is why one to credit this state for best healthcare standards because, inspite of bad hygene standards, which require more money to cleanup, better immunisation protect people from diseases. I agree, that the standards in these towns should improve, but that should not take away the credit for the medical and health care system in TN.

i am a tamilian, but just think why we r not even able to influence our neighbors (to simple stuff as releasing drinking water) - northies are far and they prefer bangalore or hyderabad to chennai

Most North Indians, not all, thinks that just because Tamil people refuse to speak Hindi, they treat Tamilians as Anti national... They should know that even during Kargil war, Tamil Nadu is the Number1 state to collect more funds.

Why at all north-south talk in this forum? There are certain factors in which TN stands best and in this care immunisation program and healthcare system. In the same, Punjab and Haryana stood first in Green revolution by increasing the food yield. The same way, Maharashtra and UP developed systems for Sugar cane yield and improved the output. Every state, except few states, have something to learn and adopt. Why to create this north-south division? Rather focus on improving ourselves being in united India.
