If they are really intelligent then why can't they change the fate of our country.Earning money or making innovative thing is not intelligent or smartness.Doing something for our country is intelligence.

Wow Mr.Intelligent, what have you done for the country? Since the fate our country hasn't changed (in your words) means that you are either not-intelligent or have done nothing for your country.
We point fingers at IIT and IIM...95% of AIIMS MBBS students go to US and as an attending there they get paid minimum 2 crores rs (500,000 $) every year..that is way beyond these record breaking IIT/IIM salaries..no one objecting that... very strange..
Re: High Salary...
by EmKay on Dec 03, 2009 10:01 AM
And I am saying you make these number up as you go. AIIMS MBBS students don't mean squat in the US. All foreign graduates have to go through the licensing exams and 3 to 4 years of residency to become eligible to practice. And physicians make about $150,000 on average to begin with. Surgeons may make around $400,000 to start with.
Re: Re: Re: High Salary...
by EmKay on Dec 03, 2009 10:10 AM
There is no cream or butter..that is why I said "All" foreign graduates have to go through licensing blah blah...and AIIMS means diddly squat. No one really cares if one is from AIIMS. Score on the exam decides future salary to a large extent.
Re: Re: Re: Re: High Salary...
by simple on Dec 03, 2009 10:20 AM
speaking of scores...99% of AIIMS MBBS students got 99 percentile in all 3 licensing exams..lol

I hope it is not you Mr. Simple that is having hard time putting together a message that would be acceptable on a public forum :-) With all the smarts of being a PGYIII suregery resident who knows how to use brains and work and tweak the system..not to mention the humbleness..LOL. Do you need help?

For whatever reason I can not reply to your latest post (reply button is disabled). I think you have completely missed the point here. The point we were discussing was AIIMS MBBS graduates. Just to remind you, I was saying that AIIMS graduates don't mean diddly squat in the US. And you were trying to be smart alec wwith your argument. The point is NOT "it is never too late and just slogging..." whatever you are saying. My dad has already told me all that when I was six 10 years old.

As I indicated originally, you are simply making stuff up as you go. And I hope that is not your idea of a clever argument.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: High Salary...
by simple on Dec 03, 2009 10:29 AM
and AIIMS really does not mean much for us..it was just a stepping step...now who cares...as long as this tag will serve us we will keep it...no one at AIIMS or any where in India or US is a saint anyway..so why to bother

btw your humble replier is PGYIII surgery resident from one of those 5 hospitals...point is its never too late and just slogging wont take you too far...use your brains to get through the system and tweak system to suit you...
about sour grapes. These rewards for deserving spur a whole generation. There is a huge industry of coaching and millions of studentd slog hard to get a shot at those rewards. These are very constructive activity.. Much better than the activities that youth in neighboring countries do..
Why average indian should subsidize education for some IIT student who is getting very high salary packages? Why not charge them actual costs and offer them liberal loans if they dont have resources. If these companies need these graduates, why can't they pay the tab?

IITs as institution have earned the fame because of its alumini who are respected world over and not because of govt funding.
Yes, they do earn an obscene amount of money but they get India the respect and recognition which our politicians can not manage.
They are the brand ambassedors of India in US, Europe and world over.

Excellent point tar sha. Do you know whats the fee in IIT? and by the way govt. subsidizes many things.. for example gas, rice etc.. and what about reservations? Do not comment just for the sake of it. First know the facts. You Morooon

These will be practically difficult. What is required will be to make the charges equal to costs. Give very liberal and easy loans to those brilliant but poor and needy. Anyway, every one will get very good salary after graduating and they can pay back. Both stduents and govt win.

Govt. should make it compulsory for all IIT pass outs to serve the nation (within country) for atleast 3 years immediately from the year of pass out, so that the nation will atleast get some benefit out of them and public money utilized for these people.
Govt of India is Pumping money to these IIT's, but no one from the IITs are thinking about India & Indian Domestic Industries, farmers. they keen to have a placement at MNCs, Nobody is there to improvise the agriculture sector,
So everybody here want a positive Growth in AGRICULTURE, Media is eager to Depict 6% negative Growth,!!
what a funny..... what a funny Govt... What a funny People...!!
Food grains & Veg, PRICE hike By 20-35%, Unemployment rate is 25% to 30%, Migration from Village/rural/ agri everymonth-5-10%, ultimately "what to eat"?? IIT product ?? Govt never wakeup, flood affected- Karnataka,AP,Bihar,Orissa farmers got "2 week sympathy from Media" now no one turned upto their village!, no one is there to listen their sorrow, no house built, no money reached, nothing much they got from Govt as well as general public. everything reached just Infront of the Media Camera.!

It is not necessary to be a farmer to understand plight of farmers when climatic conditions in the country are so volatile. Even ordinary layman can understand this.

Then stop writing on message board. Pack your things and goto a village to help them in person.

Only because we are not remain true Indians who had moral values like honesty, generousity, helping.we are following principles of money, power, fame, false values everything goes from the root, the root cause is our education system is poorly managed, children only learn to get good marks and good job and more and more money for fame,Education is for learning, understanding not for making a career or earning money for self and family but to be a good human and let our children provide good knowledge and learning. These IITians are able to do this job after earning money but they use their brain first for study and then for money making and then for fame,no one work for country then how we call them best brain of our country,no way.

Do you know how much money the govt. is minting directly or indirectly from these IITians? I agree that agriculture is important.. but why link everything to IIT? Put some logic when you comment on something. Don't comment just for the sake of it..
