Indian Education system
by swami pudipeddi on Aug 29, 2009 06:17 PM

As indicated by Mr.Pitroda, a relook should be there in the system. Unnecessary importance to one game or one or two courses should not be there. Upto a certain level maths has to be made compulsory so that the candidate can have analytical skills. There after the courses should be so that any course guarantees a job with comparable salary. Again there should be an option to any one to pursue any course liked by him at any satge by changing from one discipline to another as is being available in other countries especially USA. Once these are taken care of the craze for engineering/medicine containes and an all round development of all courses and arts can be ensured. probably this may take about two decades for implementation if a decision is taken now, but it is worth trying to create a developed Nation in all respects. This ensures not looking down a particular person/course.

IIT faculty seeks Rs 15,000 pay hike
on Aug 26, 2009 10:35 AM

it is not only iits, but the indian admidtrative services, policing, defense, public health sectors, services like railways postal school and other degree colleges, do not attract quality persons. there should be revamp of the idea how we remunerate and treat them for efficient provision of services at freequent intervals. there should be no irrational political interference in implementing. a damage will take long time and more resources to correct.

Govt should support Basic education upto 10th class with security
by thomas fernandes on Aug 29, 2009 06:10 PM

To implement the right to education bill Govt should support the education upto high school level to low income people by providing them actual financial support.Only 40% to 50% children go to the school, rest go for work to support their parents. The situation in interior rural and tribal areas is worst.
The govt should sincerely work in this regard.

We are screwing up the IIM and IIT teh Kohinoors acclaimed worldwide.
Two developments.
(a) Pass marks after joining IIT for SC/ST students is now only 18.
(b) 3 SC/ST students appealed in supreme court when the Dean of IIT Mumbai asked them to leave as they had been failing in last 3 years.
Now see the irony CHIEF JUSTICE of India passes a verdict saying "NO" they shouls stay in the college and you should arrange special coaching for them with extra time. So what a decision do you now trust the judiciary the only hope and then waste more of our tax payers money.
(c) Kapil Sibal says that the class 12 exam marks will carry a weightage in IIT admission now tell me imagine a guy gives no class 10 exam then comes to class 12 in two years with the academics you get marks and pave way for IIT so the CREAM is getting diluted becoz the real talent is gone.
This is KAPIL SIBAL saithya jana wanting to be a bravado day dreaminglike Manmohan who rightfully had done the globalisation in India.
(d) And the latest so manyreserved IIT seats were vacant in last session to start so with Kapil Sibal Advice the cut off has been lowered which itself was laugh worthy.
No talk of primary education corrupting only the best education just to be in limelight this is congress JAI HO.

At least BJP did not lower down the cut off marks did not stop incompetent students being asked to leave nor did it move up the creamy layer.
BJP did not touch anything and kept it as it is not like
Arjun Singh and now the new Hero Hiralal of Congress Kapil Sibal sprading cancer in education system.
