Infosys results are doubtful
by Lula Persaud on Apr 15, 2009 12:56 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Infosys is a big lier. I doubt their quarterly results. They might have actually incurred bigger losses that reported.

Well they have NOT reported losses, so where does the question of "bigger" losses that (sic) reported come up from ?

If You fight - collectively : There is hope
by Aapka Dost on Apr 15, 2009 12:20 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Swanky offices, lay offs, fat pay checks of Management, loot the investors and customers, fudge the accounts as per their needs .... mera bharat mahan..

If you recall, sometime back Jet had laid off its workers but when the employees UNITED and fought collectively Jet had to take them back, may be some political pressure was also there.

Recently investors in DLF properties had to stage a fight to get back their money. Similary a group of HDFC home loan customers is fighting for reduction in rate of interest. The poor customers had to form a group at y a h o o to fight the mighty corporation.

When the corporates will start behaving in a responsible manner???

Infosys, Wipro , TCS...well done..but..
by Dev on Apr 15, 2009 11:53 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

..that's it..3 cos. for size of country is not enough.
there should be a base of 30 such cos. for size of 1 b pop.

also why nobody talk about trade deficit..one of the highest trade deficit is India.

china ofcourse is topmost net trade balance

what im trying to say is that this self-patting is not good enough. Infosys is a big contributor to forex reserve through revenue for overseas contract.
but even with this revenue and other I.T and BPO cos. the net trade balance of India is one of the lowest in world..ie..we are having one of highest deficit/year.

Why the Hell are they Laying Off
by Justine Thomas on Apr 15, 2009 11:50 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

If this is the scenario why are they laying off employees... Last week 2100 infoscions lost job... Is there something like happened in Satyam????

Re: Why the Hell are they Laying Off
by Sai Cunt on Apr 15, 2009 03:29 PM  Permalink
With attrition rate of 14% ( on a base of 105000 employees) the people leaving is about 1200 a month, sacking 2100 is not even required nor would it make any difference. Please read the statement- 2100 people "left" the company after the appraisals - is what the statement is, they were not "fired" but by making this statement Infy is trying to justify no salary hikes and other cost cutting measures- just smart management that's all-using the recession as a means to control costs better. No layoffs or acking happening, just the gullible media being used and twisting it to "layoffs".

ALREADY HOMEMAID PAYOUTS TO IT WORKERS - THE NAKED TRUTH
by Anushree Gaikwad on Apr 15, 2009 11:08 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

IN USA, where a homemaid took $ 1000 / month and if homemaid worked for 4 homes then also, she get equal payout of our IT technology engineers. There may be difference of quality & not sure, some little; but there is no difference in payouts.
THERE IS NO SURPRISE FOR THE ABOVE STATEMENT. THAT IS THE NAKED TRUTH.
e.g. Bottle of PEPSI - THE RATES:-
INDIA- Rs. 10-15/. as per place.
USA - USA $ 2/.
Convert in Indian currency Rs. 100/.
THIS IS ALSO THE NAKED TRUTH.

For all of your kind information, per capita income per year of USA is USA$ 16000/. So monthly per capita income of USA stands out at USA$ 1500/. per year.

Also, I want to clarify that Indians, chinese workers work for particular job in US$ 4k-5k per month, then for that job resident USA worker demands minimum 12k to 15k per month. So, there are protests against H-1B visa numbers due to unemployment fears.

you must be a COBOL programmer at Satyam who faked his degree (Usmania University) and experience (GultiSoft, Hyderabad). Use small letters, your computer will save space and your mails will reach faster. Coming back to your point, your Raju has booked place for 10 years. In 10 years even Mahindra will perish with the overhead of fake engineers from Satyam.

I didn't know writing in small letters causes the mails to go faster !!!!!! better still 'save space', where did you get that from? Gems !!!
Here is one from me: Never tilt you pc lest all of the data will fall off it. If you don't believe me try at your own risk.

I agree with Rema. One side these IT companies showing profit and foreign company acquisition but another side they are laying off their employees by name of low performance. They should not forget the sentiments of people.Once Bush tasteed shoe it started a way to oppose decision. The opposition of corporate laying off decision already started by Noida CEO(L K Chaudhury).

When the maid servant in your house does not wash the clothes properly, what do you do? You sack her. Right? This is exactly what Infy and others are doing and they have an absolute right to do that. Your maid servant can't say that just because you are making money and have bought a new car that she should be kept in employment. It sounds harsh but that's the right thing to do. Even I can get sacked from my job tomorrow. My company has laid off poor performers too. What's wrong with it? I need to keep working on my own skills to make myself employable. I cannot and should not expect the companies to lower their bar to fit me even if I am incapable. Companies are not charity organizations. Laying off poor performers is the right thing to do. Yes, some of the laying off happening could be unfair. But, as a concept it's not wrong.

And BTW Rema, who is this Narayanaswamy? You seem to know a lot about Infosys and IT :)
