Power comes wth responsibility
by greatpreacher on Oct 05, 2008 09:03 AM

I am not supporting USA or India.I have lived in 22 countries. It is all about trust in the system. America is 100 years ahead of any other country in the world in giving this trust. It may be financial trust, security of life etc.
I will tell you one example.
I have never seen a $100 bill in the last 10 years of stay in USA.Everybody use credit cards and nobody would even dare to dream of messing up with credit history. People here cut a check even for $0.99 in a grocery store and it is honored.

There is a business, NO INVESTMENT, NO RISK BUT ONLY PROFITS!!!

Just go near any large post office in your city and stand in front of the section where people come to buy stamps. These stamps will have dried gum on the back.
Many people dont want to lick the gum so that it becomes wet and sticks to the letter and others are too lazy to open their mouths. Now you can offer a service where you open your mouth , so that people can wet their stamps! You get to collect a service fee say 50 Ps or 1 Re.

Just imagine how many people buy stamps in a day and how much money you can make!!!

Bank Bail out
by Ranganathan Srinivasan on Oct 01, 2008 09:22 AM  | Hide replies

The rejection of the bailout plan is welcome. If there is a great turmoil following this let it be.Arising from it there will be a realisation that money and wealth do not grow on trees or the even taller Manhattan buildings. That will also mean the end of US inspired consumerism, the end of reckless spending funded by borrowed money. If consumption abates, the worlds resources are better conserved and utilised as a result and if we regain respect for old style products that had durability this US burnout would have served its purpose.

US House rejects bailout package
by MUKUL GARG on Sep 30, 2008 10:26 PM  | Hide replies

The rejection of bailout package by a US house is in sharp contrast to scene prevailing in India. In US, the public money is well-guarded by their legislators. In this cursed country called India, the third grade politicians can take all big decisions involving lakh of crores of tax payers' money to pursue their political agenda once they get into power. There are numerous examples where a political parties, once elected to power, have beligerently and blatantly mis-appropriated public money without any justification. Unworthy and unviable projects have sanctioned to benefit certain privileged politicians. Loans have been waived off to win votes with utter contempt towards public money. Money has been siphoned off in the name of revival of sick industries. Undue subsidies are being extended to win votes. So many meaningless schemes that have tremendous potential for corruption have been launched. All this is happening because a common man does not question the way public money is spent. Loss of public property or money, in fact, has seldom been a matter of concern in India. The tolerance or insensistivity of Indian people in this matter is shameful.

Showmanship, money laundering, high funda langauge and jargons are the hall marks of American companys starting with Enron Power. So much dust is accumulated under the carpet thereby keeping others in dark. Then the bubble busts.Since most of the MNC'S including some Indian Banks have been following this culture and pocketing extraordinary salary at leadership level, the bubble will burst in India too. Watch out !!

Did you know the our President Pratibha Patil's Co-Operative Banks license was cancelled by RBI in 2003? In fact which were finance business she started has been charged with fraud.
Can you tell me in civilized history of world have you ever heard such blatant misuse of power where a president is elected who headed a company involved in financial fraud and her brother who is under murder investigation.

A perfect thief could be a best policeman. similarly a perfect corrupt man would be best for a leading position. Therefore it is not strange to have all leaders and politicians and ministers who are corrupt. A honest man never becomes a leader or minister. Even if he becomes by chance his days will be numbered immediatley. Take the example of our great Dr. Abdul kalam. he was a honest and perfect man. But all (politicians)were fed up with him. He could not continue for asecond term in office even though I wish he be our President as far as he is alive. Take the example of another heroic person, police Officer Kiran Bedi. who was honest and perfect and could have been used for best services for this country as far as law and order is concerned. But she was sidelined and given some unimportant jobs (again by these politicians) and got retired. Likewise there are thousands of people like Dr. kalam and Kiran Bedi in this India who served the country and disappeared in the thin air. this is the process that began in 1947 and when it will end. No one knows. Only God save teh great India.

The Bulls and Bears!
by Ramesh Kapoor on Sep 30, 2008 09:48 PM

In one of the Indian Daily's an economic disaster was forcast sometimes during August 2008 or soon thereafter. This was awaited except the magnitude of the disaster was not known. The housing market boomed during the last decade and the home prices skyrocketed. It reminded me of what an ex-US army soldier had said. First we had the Dot.Com boom, and the baloon burst; followed by the Housing market, and this too burst last year; the Oil prices reached sky-high to $147 per barrel, and this too has come down; so those Warren Buffets are making hay, while you, me, and my neighbor, are struggling. I am down in my 401(K), and hope that I will be able to recover sometimes soon or within a year, when I have to start making withdrawals because of age factors. The Wall Street Meltdown, and falling of Investment Banking will be strongly felt all over the World, especially the emerging markets and the third world countries. Time for living on Credit Cards is over, as interest rates are bound to rise further; and there is a lesson to be learned by each and every country before embarking on social programs without cash, or end up the Zimbabwe way.

Beware of educated gamblers
by S Ghosh on Sep 30, 2008 09:35 PM

May be our guys are trying their level best to cover up their wrong doings but for how long? When things go out of hand, one day we may hear a LB story right across. So commoners, pls stay away from this market. Educated gamblers are swindling your hard earned money.

All these educated gamblers with a flashy B-School degree have joined together to swindle others money through organised gambling. They rate other companies as A, A and all, but see what happened to them. They fool others by talking in a language not understood by others, take fat pay cheques and huge bonuses, create paper money and finally dump the innocent investors high and dry.

So don't listen to these ivy school B-grads. All their calculations have gone wrong. Still the business channels interview them. Fools fools everywhere...
