Stringent labour/employment laws needed

The present C government has totally failed to safeguard rights of workers. Any new government should consider banning unscrupulous firms that have hire and fire policy. With each employee fired there should be a downgrade for the company. The company cannot make employees the scapegoats for its financial underperformance

IIT IS NOW EQUIVALENT TO ITI
by ARu K on Oct 22, 2008 10:09 AM  | Hide replies

With all stupid politicians around... they have made rules & opened colleges like farms....IIT is equivalent to ITI.

Every damn fellow is a engineer from a XYZ college & if you ask them which college u passed , they would say the university name....

To hell with policies....

Hi,

Just want to know what relevance your ranting against IIT and Govt policies has to do when the topic is regarding the fear of IITs getting reduced endownment funds. The reason being that that their own alumni cutting back on their remittance on annual endowments due to global economic slowdown.

I dont understand your logic of blaming policies of the Govt because IITs are getting lesser endowments now...

It would have been appreciated if the discussion is based on the topic and relevant so that the discussion more lively and useful for one and all.

What do u want, 1000 engineers from a population of 1,129,866,154 in a year..?? are they enough to fulfill the growing demand of qualified people. There are several industries and sectors which don't need an IITian for any of their purpose. They all need a simple engineer from XYZ college... With time certainly their quality of education is gonna improve, but today they need a start at least. IIt alone is not capable of producing such large no. of professionals.

Wht do u want 1000 Engineers in a year from a country of 1,129,866,154? IIT alone is not capable of producing such large number of professionals in this country. There are so many small industries, companies and sectors who dont need an IItian for any of their purpose, all they need a simple engineer from XYZ college. Of course with time these colleges will improve their quality of education. But Now to fulfill the demand of professionals we need such collages.
