Another ploy
by Gopal on Oct 22, 2008 02:57 AM

The world prosperity Index narrated here is different from the Prosperity Index proposed by Dr. Kalam. This refers to how far the 'rich' perform in life. The real PI should reflect the condition of the poorest of the poor. We must be careful to handle this ploy! We must devise our own methods with parameters as we decide.

this type of propserity or other indices from some consultants have no meaning.

what is important is what the aam admi goes through.

under this govt. based on what aam admi is going through, india must be placed no. 256 on the list.

What to do to help people during this crisis
by Vinod A on Oct 21, 2008 07:19 PM  | Hide replies

I am suprised the Government is thinking of bails outs and reimbursements to banks to solve the current financial crunch. Although the move is not completely bad, it does indicate the lack of thought for the grass root.. the actual people impacted i.e the common man. What the Government could have done was to subsidize the common requirememts of the people like food, public transportations, fuel charges, education charges etc. Now that global fuel prices are down I do not see a reason why it can not be done. Such steps would reduce the expenses of common people there by improving their saving capacity. And by improving the saving capacity of the common man you actually get him to invest his savings be it in banks or in other instruments which has a positive ripple effect. Sadly at present no one is giving a thought to how to help improve the saving potential of the common man by bringing down prices.
Thanks.

Governments are doing bails outs of Banks and companies because when Economy will come up they will get back their money with interest.
But if they bails outs common man Loans then Government will not get back single $ also even if Economy will come up.

As it's said here that India is doing lot of research in house but the problem is making it a commercial way to have economics developement is not happening in India... This can only happen if we remove corrupt politicians who are policy makers also... we need to take young flash ahead in elections and then only we can have economic development and better rank in such reports!!!
