Overseas routes: Foreign airlines gain

Jet Airways and private Indian airlines suffering..

..becuase of sadistic ATF taxes and surcharges levied on Indian aircraft operatons. While GOI is killing our own, they are helping the rival foreign airlines. Damn this is annoying, sad and painful.

A good example is mentioned about how Emirates can fill the aircraft with onward passengers going to USA/Europe and thus not depended on Dubai traffic alone. In airline parlance, it is called 6th freedom traffic. Air India, all along concentrated only on Indian nationals flying home and back. India is presently place very high on tourism map and Air india could promte travel, say for eg. London to Singapore via Delhi/Mumbai etc with a nice stopover package thrown in at Bombay or Delhi. This will help get more revenue for the airline. However, AI need to change its service profile. They cannot expect international passengers to do this if they treat them like they treat the poor workers rom Gulf!
