Raising fuel prices will reduce our oil consumption.

Lesser Oil consumption means lesser forex outflow.

Lesser Forex outflow means stronger rupee.

Stronger Rupee means lesser inflation.

As simple as that. Fuel is still cheaper in India than in Europe. We should reduce our addiction to foreign oil.

good reasoning. In cities like Delhi we already have CNG switchover, may other cities follow suit!
