Dear Rajesh S:

Deve Gowda was and is of the calibre of a Municipal Corporator. When such people become Prime Minister, a joke is perpetrated on the nation.

Dear Kittu:

An excellent point. Tha Gandhi family and the Rajiv Gandhi foundation have tonnes and tonnes of money. These monies should be used for bailing out the farmers. Why burden us for winning an election?

Why you guys vote for Congress and then scream for help. Give BJP 2 to 3 consecutive terms and I am sure they will take India to new levels.

I cant stand the congress because I witnessed Sikh-killing mobs in Delhi, but congrats to rahul Gandhi for bringing some sense in the farmer loan waiver policy. Often 2-hectare plus holdings may show only one name in the patwari's records but are in practice owned and cultivated by a large and desparately poor joint family.

Dear Champak:

What about their monies in the SWISS Banks? Their 12 month salary is less than pittance compared to what they have stashed in the Swiss Banks and elsewhere for years together.

50 years Congress ruled the country before BJP came into hotseat in 1997-98. I am sure, Gandhi family & other Congressmen combined balances in the Swiss Bank must be more than double the India's GDP.

Congress has no future with this family. That's more of a liability than an asset.

Raul must bring finance from some other source
by Y Singh on Mar 16, 2008 02:25 PM

Mr Raul Ghazi-Khan-Maino whatever must bring the fund from some other source before even talking like giving away our money. He can bring from his own country or may be JL Nehru's closet that he stole from the resources of Azad Hind Fouz or SBC, whatever if he had guts rather than talking big. He can't use our money to distribute for their cunning ways of getting votes. I can visualize all their stupid slaves clapping hands and would be all praise, no wonder. This family is drawing our country to a dead halt. Unless people are concerned/aware, it's going to create a economic demise to our society. Mr P Chi has learned a strange way of budget prep from Harvard Biz School. Shame on the slaves!

Naive Rahul
by chetan patel on Mar 16, 2008 01:12 PM

Rather then asking for more money from our hard earned money, Rahul first needs to know whether the money is channelized to right people. Inspite of Rs. 60 k crore relief granted by Finance Minister, I think little has happened to relieve farmers from it's woes. Still suicides persists in the Vidharba. More money will only fuel more corruption. There is no transparent report to show how much money is provided to the poor.

Lastly, Rahul should take a precedent from Anil Ambani and cough money from his own pockets for the nation as Anil did for his shareholders. I'm certain the moment Rahul starts signing a few cheques from his Swiss bank account, he can dole out a few thousands of crores for the country. Wouldn't it be a philanthropic cause?

Rahul - I agree
by SunInfo Solutions on Mar 16, 2008 01:08 PM

Yes the loan waiver is discriminatory.

The farmers having less than 5 acres should be considered - keeping in mind that most farmers live in a joint family.

However a single cut off date is reqd. if not one than the other otherwise it will create a mess in the administration. farmers even in one district use diff. farming timings. If the govt. has to have diff timings then there will have to be many.

regarding Loan wavier
by yarlagadda laskhman on Mar 16, 2008 10:30 AM

It seems congress, made good attempt to help the poor. If atleast .0001% of this money goes to righ persons, then we can say congress has done a right job. Why don't the govenrment think of making the process of disturbution of moeny transparent. It will be good thing if they put all the disturbution which the govenrment is doing in balance sheet in a website. So everybody will be knowing the facts.
