Kanjoos Gujjus live like beggars and spoil the name of other Indians. Even brainless Biharis are better than them in this regard.
Dear NRIs (US) We do not wish to abuse you for your way of living. When you are in Rome live like a Roman. But our (Indian) culture has a hidden quality. We are amenable to change. We are trained to adjust to the surroundings. Take this as an advice. Get going, looking for the good days ahead. Work for the country you live in. Be a NATIONALIST as far your country of residence is concerned. Does not mean that you should accuse your country of origin. Keep a balance. Uphold your country of origin while working for the development of the country of residence. Difficult times are there in life. Think of the great depression in US. Did they not overcome that strains? Keep the words: Change according to the time and place. Take it easy.

However, the next item in my plate is to write about my first job in Kolkata and move to hydderabad and seeing the gulta females closely. I wish to write more about gulta females, but only if you permit.
If you guys don't find this boring and want me to keep on going /writing, just add a comment : "We want more" -- and I would oblige.

LOL.But they work hard as well and it's only natural that they get along well within their group.Isn't the same rule applies for Punjabis, Marathas and everybody else.So why pick on them??
RE:In continuation of Ohh my ...gas price
by com on Jul 10, 2008 01:23 AM
I think I can tell you why he is picking on them. This is the universal case with guys. When they get *s*d by some person, they start abusing the community to vent their frustration. And rediff makes money on this abuse, rediff sucks royally.

Dude...your postings are fun, if you are not a a gulta or gulti, what would be fun is if you told us, what the gulti's really did to you, that you are venting out like this ??
RE:RE:In continuation of Ohh my ...gas price
by Pavan on Jul 10, 2008 01:56 AM
You also tell that you are from IIT ?, how did you get it in ?, by abusing gulti's ??, i can tell you this, you wont get far in life with that kind of attitude toward's other communities...peace
Indians in USA were never big spenders, they are big savers. So, this inflation is putting a dent in savings - not that they cannot afford stuff.
Still on a 1000 mile monthly usage at 25 mi/gal i.e 40 gal gas purchases, a $1/gal increase translates to only $40 per month - not a big deal by any standards.
People are just crying for nothing. You spend $60 on a weekend buffet lunch for a family of four and not think twice. Spend $40 at the movies - no dinner .. but when it comes to gas prices, everyone complains.

I agree with you..Crying for nothin. Its still very easy living in the US. Moreover if they have so much problem living in US, go to India and then you will find the real reason to cheer up in US. Grow up, u all were never BIG SPENDERS. so why to create this hoopla and panic. You all are still surviving good.
I am an investor so speculation on commodities,Oil, Gold, Agriculture, base metal is my job. With the recent downturns the whole world is affected, Nikkei has been on red for 11 straight days. All major countries are feeling the pinch of higher oil price. They looked into Biofuel which instead increased the cost of agriculture. So higher oil prices is affecting people around the globe. And its not a question about who owns merc,bmw-- i own an expensive car too but my budget is already set for the monthly gas and with all the rising food cost, inflation, weak job sectors ---- even a rich guy will feel the pinch. BUT MY POINT IS WHY IT HAS TO DO ONLY WITH STATES --- THERE ARE PEOPLE ALL AROUND THE GLOBE, WHAT ABOUT THEM?????????
RE:Why the whole world gives attention to US
by sonia gupta on Jul 10, 2008 02:28 AM
Exactly my thought.. Why does Rediff have to worry about USA ?? They should do reports on India.
RE:Why the whole world gives attention to US
by Loan Shark on Jul 10, 2008 12:41 AM
Because USA is a world leader and everyone else is trying to imitate Americans
Yes, the gas price pressure will come down to every country and person in some way or other. Gas price increases means all other prices go up without choice. The only point here is the developed countries are more used to cars as a means of necessity. Cars are still considered luxury in our country. So people can fall back on other options if their car usage gets expensive. But in US ppl. are more dependent on car. It's just that they will have to find ways to reduce their car usage. But does that mean we can also cut down on food ? No, we will have to take our daily dose of food. Looking at the way things are going, in near future getting stuff to eat is going to be a next big problem as gas is making transportation expensive and global warming is making cultivation difficult. So guys don't fight talking of others .. think how everyone of us are going to survive our future lives. It's just going to get worst.
RE:It's just the begining .. the worst is yet to come.
by Sachin on Jul 10, 2008 01:00 PM
In one way I feel its good we will have ctrl on global warming as the gas prices keeps shooting
Jeez... People in India went on strike last month on gas price rise... which world is the cry baby author living in??
First, the author was naive in thinking that USA will somehow have unlimited cheap gas supply forever. Now, the author is naive in thinking that India is not facing similar problems from surgin fuel costs and food price.
Gas price is a reality and we all (ALL HUMAN BEINGS) will have to deal with it.
We will all have to cut down our fuel consumption - how about moving closer to work??? Why drive 65 miles (100km) to work everyday??
RE:Who is this person ???
by sonia gupta on Jul 10, 2008 12:17 AM
Correction: By author I meant all the people who were interviewed by the author.. they are the ones who are crying about prices.
