Virtualization
by Jagan P James on Jan 07, 2008 02:13 PM

who ever done this article, missed the most important thing, Virtualization.
Grid computing has been around and it hasnt made that much of a technology shift, as it goes only at the higher strata. i think the author has mistaken grid computing for virtualization.

10 tech trends that will shape 2008

Article is good and does tell the trend our invention is headed for. The article is however is keeping in mind the middle class, upper middle class population and their living styles. It would have better if invention community as well as polcy makers are reminded of the fact that the need of invention is however is dictated more by the need felt by those living in the area. In India, so far invention is more driven by what will make things better for those who already have better life. In India, we do have problems of incresing sickness of diabities, blindness, heart deseases, cancer and pollution related health problem. Unfortunately, the affected group(s) does not have the money to pay where efforts of invention can be diverted. Illiteracy, un employment, environment, health delivery system, irrigation, bio-medicines, etc etc also joins the area of preferrence in Govt. fundings. Our tax collections is booming where Govt. should be able to spare enough money to change the investment pattern and divert the attention to wards above priority areas. Lot depends on how much the expenditure on salary of Govt. employees is allowed and how much reduction in number of Govt. employees and reduction in unproductive expenditure is restricted and fund is used for ensuring that invetion in these areas are also lucrative enough.
Once that is considered possible, then bio technology, invention in clean energy, clean fuel in automobile, waste treatment, providing good drinking water etc ha

Suboptimal Analysis
by Reporter on Jan 06, 2008 08:49 AM

Your writer is not familiar with non-IT technologies: so the article is suboptimal. I make some more additions:

1. Indian space technologies: launch and satellite business will increase for international space coomerce.
2. Technical Textiles, rather than conventional textiles will make inroads consequent to the weak dollars and hence bad export market.
3. Computer harware technology will improve slowly.
4. Genetics, bioinformatics, advances in genomics will take shape.
5. Nanotechnology will slowly be introduced in industrial as well as biological applications.
6. Alternative Sources of Energy, including solar power, biodiesel etc. will be slowly introduced.

These are just some of my immediate thoughts.

Ten technologies key in 2008 in the corporate sector and society

1. Genetic and neural medicine will bring about by the indian companies which shares most profitable market in the world medicine.

2. Food processing technology has started booming. Now world market is captured even by pakistan and bangladesh, even if india can touch them will be a great advancement. Very basic technological challenges has to be met already developed by pak and bangladesh.

3. Supercomputing was a cencept for indian researchers in scientific organisations only, now private companies will see its importance. Is there anybody wish to predict low density clouds as perfect in japan???? India will be a dream country.

4. Laptop and power point presentation which was in the core area of research and corporate people will enter into education and government administration by and large, and if this happens performance will improve significantly as system development concept which does not exist in india will come into being.

5. Even for kids there is now google uncle and animal planet and discovery channel. A silent revolution would continue to dismantle torturing education system.

6. A new hitech way is going to bring millions of peoples more into mutual fund way of living. New cyber shops even in villages are being seen in the last few months.

7. The business of selling culture and religion in india to the world market is nill, Ramayana business is already taken over by indonesia.

7. Even china is selling hindu religious products in india. 2008 will see sell the religion as a last attempt to save our small scale industry. If not, china will silently collapse great indian economy from this single door. Tell me how????

8. Banking system with merger of ATM, all billing through ATM, and internet business would demand large security system which is going to be in 2010 onwards, but unless it is developed soon it will not get matured.

9. Indian film industry will start international business with multiple language programming. Graphics and advanced animation is still primitive in indian films, but if multilingual with english, spanish, german and japanese one, indian movie industry will see a revolution.

10. Indian garments is going to be hightech for the first time other wise with the rise of rupee it is going to finish. To cope with loses only choice is to delete world image of sasta brand and leave them to pakistan and bangladesh and go for indian pierre cardin.

There are more but i think these are few which if not done may seriously affect indian survival of growth.
