This budget is targetting next general elections
by Readiff on Feb 26, 2008 06:44 PM

The Railway budget is well-aimed at coming general elections. Despite hidden charges, Lalu wants to project himself as a pro-poor and pro-minority leader. However, it is a fact that our trains did not improve in terms of features, facilities, hygienic food & water, infrastructure, etc. Media is only concerned about populist factors like Fare hike, new trains, concessions etc rather than the services the train should offer.

It will be FM's turn to announce his populist budget for next elections.

RE:Step Mother treatment for karnataka , Central Govt has forgotten , karnataka is also part of India

This problem can only be solved when all the MP's from Karnataka raise their voice at delhi irrespective of their political affiliations and party feelings and fight for the rights of Karnataka without just being a decoration from Karnataka.

by RAVI KUMAR on Feb 26, 2008 05:25 PM

YES...Its a good budget but I feel that there might be some hidden burdens on passengers like increasing the Tatkal Quota, coverting normal express trains to superfast express etc.....
