tata had a dream.

tata had a dream.
the poor mans' dream .... car.
Mr.Tata wasn't thinking about market share OR shareholders or personal aggrandisement.Environment

wasn't even in the picture. We salute tata for his concern of the middle class.Finding fortune in

the middle of the pit.But Mr.Tata why don't you inspire your engineers to come up with a cost

efficient, fuel efficient, environment friendly commercial vehicle for public transport. One that

won't bleed the govt. or ruin the environment or send the oil bill soaring??This will help India

more than a nano car .Stop looking at numbers alone.India does not have the luxury of surplus

space.Ford was not a genius. He was an idiot.Who started this car craze.
Can Tata help India build a good subway or light rail?? Can he help them keep the cities, towns and

villages cleaner?Do some waste management?Car is not an indication of quality of life.Clean air

is.Clean water is.Clean surroundings is. indications of quality and standard of life.If Tata and

other intelligent Indians argue and come up with solutions for public transport and waste

management that will do a lot more for our country than a stupid car.Ford of the third
millenium.... ... do some micro finance apart from IPO's... Use solar n wind power ... renewable
energy ....

innovations are useless
by prabha on Feb 19, 2008 01:56 AM  | Hide replies

In my opinion these innovations doesn%u2019t benefits India and its poor farmers, only helping the foreign company to earn some money. Who will be benefited by the introduction of medical billing?? How this will help the rural development? Please give me an answer. Due to the introduction of medical billing and coding they are putting a good base for their US-companies to earn money from India. Some People from north side they knows only business will say this is very good idea because they don%u2019t know the consequences. The introduction of this scheme will change poor Indians life styles like the Americans. Everybody have to carry a medicine box everyday instead of eating good healthy food you can eat vitamin tablets. I%u2019m writing this from US according to my knowledge in US you couldn%u2019t see a man without any medicines is rare. If you consider this in India how many are taking medications? In my opinion as long as you are not taking medicines is very good for your health. If you have a disease then you have to.Eat healthy foods keep you away from medicines. So for that avoid eating artificial foods and start eat fresh grown vegetables from your gardens also Govt. should provide good facilities for the farmers. Tihar, south Asia's largest prison, expects the earnings from the sales of goods made by inmates to double this financial year, touching Rs 6 crore (Rs 60 million) mark.
Tihar Factory produces bakery items, pickles, pottery and furniture and the goods are

Rambling!
You have not understood the article. Medical billing won't change the living style in the way you suggest. It has nothing to do with US style of medication here.
BPO in the rural sector will increase employment in rural areas. It will help people flocking to cities leaving their homes. It will help to reduce congestion in cities. It will help people in the rural areas to live better without compromising on qualities of life.

Having said these, I hope and wish these innovations really bring more employment to rural areas

Prof R K Gupta with due respect I beg to differ; just see how many technology books has been written by Indians; if not written then it is forwarded by Indian sitting in US....so your argument is null and void. Where ever cut and paste is required we Indians are doing it well and where ever it is not we are still doing our best to do the work....we should appreciate the guy in this article...we need many such young blood to put the rural India on progress path..
