Few days ago; I read in news paper (local hindi daily) that Honorable Mr. Ratan TATA may prove Indian version of OBAMA (who is next president of US). It admired me a lot; to read the right complements the person to whom I worshiped & respect in India. He is amongst the few public figure (including the great Mr. APJ & Dr. MMS) who given the new dimensions to country's progress. Let we pray for the health & wealth for the Greatest Business Icon of India Mr. Tata. we salute you TATA.
I think its a matter of perception, what people think about someone. But we can't deny the role of TaTa's in the development of indian industry in the primary era. I live in a city which is wholly managed by TaTa Steel i.e Jamshedpur (TATANAGAR), so i and all the people of Jamshedpur can well understand what TaTa group has provided not only to its employees but to the general public at large. As far as the layoffs are concerned Mr. Tata and other business tycoons must think about this temporarily economic Crisis and not cause people to loose their jobs. But all the sudden if we think in the employees's perspective then it is really painfull to loose jobs and in the employer's perspective it is a matter of cost cutting and pursuading labour unions.
If you occupy fertile lands which have been giving us food to eat, and has an economy of it own, then we will have to eat your cars for a living. I appeal to all captains of the Indian economy to refrain from occupying fertile lands and use the waste and for your production. You then create additional jobs in those areas.

Dear Mr. Kutty, Let the country know how much you and billions of farmer having fertile land have producing crops? You know what the stupid farmer pursue all the time: shouting slogans/ claiming for pesticides/ fertilizers/ low rain fall/ power cuts & 'n' number of problems; you people always ready to give excuses, while an industrialist always fight against all the odds without claiming to anybody & perform its best. More ever how much you know about the TATA? You know about his contribution for the country's growth? how people have their bread & butter from the TATA? it is much much more than the entire farmer community & it seems that people like are always in search to abuse TATA to have some limelight nothing else.

Farmers are getting so much soaps from the government, even then they contribute just 30% of the GDP.They should remember that this land is not only for agriculture but also for other creative purpose. If TATA was not there in 1940's our economy at that time would be worse than Burma's economy

If they had not started any business, u wud have been in a jungle my dear
The tata conglomeration is more than just a corporation, but a company whose lifeline is closely tied to our great country, along with its high and low times...I'm pretty sure this is part of business itself and tata will pull out in the years ahead.
Tatas have played a part in building India. Its unfortunate to see Taj distroyed quite a lot. I urge them to make a Taj rebuilding fund. people like me would like to contribute. I pledge Rs 100 for the same. This shall definitely frustrate terrorist.

This guy (tamil) is a moron for sure.
Of my 15 years of career, I have spent almost 7 years in various Tata Group Companies and I must say the way they take care of their employees is something worth emulating by all others.
Aas for lay-offs, go take a hike before indulging in a propaganda. TCS released people (less than 3%) who were continuously non performing. Tata Motors case was that of temporaries who were not even on Rolls.
What do you want? Do they have the responsibility of running Business or keep feeding lazy, imbeciles like you who would not want to work and yet want to be paid? They are not running Business not a Charity.
Like employees, they are responsible to shareholders also

Rahul also understand human workforce is not maths for adding or deleting.. they are lives.. tata is not a small company to do such silly layoffs... a company with diversified businessline sure they can provide a alt proposal...
on ur point on performance .. i think they hav interviews to shortlist candidates and have also 6 months probation period...
