India's long coast line cannot be monitored....
by SS Kumar on Dec 02, 2008 09:37 PM

Thus refrains a retd. high ranking official from Indian Navy. I believe nothing is impossi ble if there is a will to do it. All GOI has to do is to pose this challenge to the scient- ists (ISRO, for instance) of this country
and they may be able to come up with a working solution. Let us also find out how other count ries with a long coastline manage. For starters, the fisherman can be given ID cards in the form of smart cards, with their complete history inscribed in the chip.

Praful Patel cd be next M'rashtra CM
by SS Kumar on Dec 02, 2008 05:47 PM  | Hide replies

Praful Patel cd well be considered for the position of next CM of M'rashtra. He is brainy, polished and articulate in his thought process and will provide a clear cut action plan for the rejuvenation of Mumbai. The moot question is whther he will agree to relocate from his present hi-flying job, with much prstige attached. Wile he takes over, he can groom Deora or Ashok Chavan as Dy. CM. Enough of tolerating the same old deadwood. Mumbai needs a new dynamic leader like Patel.

Since Shinde has declined to be CM, more than Prithviraj Chauhan, the man most suited for this slot is Praful Patel. Mumbai needs a smart, brainy, articulate person as the next CM and he more than adequately fits the bill. Mumbai being the financial capital of India, his finan ce background will help Mumbai no end in getting more business, in future. The semi-literate deadwood in the past have already caused enough damage to Mumbai & Maharashtra. He has the brains to modernize both the police force and the to be set commando force in M'rashta.

Why so apologetic?
by Kaushik Das on Dec 02, 2008 11:35 AM  | Hide replies

It is the weak, apologetic media that has helped the cause of terrorism more than the terrorists have. An example is this writeout.

"Politically, that means addressing the grievances..."
"There needs to be a determined push to resolve..."
and more such.

What is this? Why do we need to tackle the "Kashmir problem" and the "Israel-palestine conflict" to eliminate terrorism?

If pakistan can be created and exist forcibly, why can't Israel?

Where does Kashmir come into all this? Kashmiris are probably the luckiest people on earth. They get away with murder (and grants from the Indian taxpayers' money) while the apologetic media searches for "root causes". Shame on you, media.
