it department is useless
by embanath nair on Sep 26, 2008 10:45 PM

many of the defence personnel who take voluntary retirement gets resonably good jobs. so they get two salaries in effect, one their present salary & one the pension they get from defence. if both are added many them have to pay a good amount to the IT dept as tax. the truth is that many don't show their pension as income and escape from IT and the IT dept knowingly close their eyes.why is it so?

VI Pay Commission
by ABHIJEET JOSHI on Aug 24, 2008 08:24 PM

We have a variety of feelings from people on recommendations of pay commission.
There are few points to think over :
1) We all are raising issues because we came to know of the recommendation and implications. What about crores of rupees spent in name of subsidy and other items we never know about.
2) How many people practice what they preach, we write that without performance no pay,why same cannot be applied to MP/MLA/ Minister.
3) Pay / allowances of Pvt is far more than we imagine, why there should not be top level limit on the same, instead of pointing towards Govt Sector.
4) All are raising hue/cry only because they are not beneficiary, has any person given up his pay/perks/ facilities from Private sector because company is not peforming. No only share holder suffer.
5) Almost 80% of Indian budget/ development is done thru Govt Institution, without attractive salary/ and talent as a result how the future plans shall be implemented.

now benchmark the govt employees like pvt firms
by raj on Aug 19, 2008 03:03 PM

if the govt employees dont move the files or ask for bribes, punish them, lock them up. asking bribes is unacceptable now onwards. also work from 9- 6 6 days a week, no second saturday off. and they should have accountability like private firms. people get sacked for non performance. in govt sector they support each other and THEY live happily ever after - but put the public to misery

are blood suckerz.
Now they should be measured by pvt company standards with deadlines etc. The increase could well have been performance linked bonus. That would ensure their performance at least..

there are only 44lakh employees for a nation of 110 crores which means for every 250 person 1 central govrnment employee.the ratio is too big it should be 1 employee for every 100.then only one can be efficient . with such meagre pay even after paycommission

before asking ask yourself whether you have paid incometax fully to the govt. whether all businessmen are honest in paying tax let them take a pledge they will not pay a single rupee as bribe to govt employee. then only you can get real benefit

6th Pay Commission!
by Srinivasan Iyer on Aug 19, 2008 10:09 AM

The last pay commission specifically raised the issue of reduction in surplus personell. Was anything done on this. We keep increasing salaries of bureaucrats but they are most corrupt. Do these increases reduce corruption in the Govt? NO. Because we make rules and regulations which are flouted by bribes!! There is no straightforward and clear rules to be implemented. There is too much discretion or poor framing of laws that allows such deviations and bribes. But most importantly, there is no accountability for any civil servant either in following certain clear time lines or targets or job review every six months. This should be done from the top to the bottom. The peon who takes Rs 10 every time one visits an official to putting up one's file over the others should all be stopped.
Increased salary without accountability and with corruption unabated is throwing good tax payers money away by a irresponsible Govt!!

Pay Hike for Govt. Staff
by Rajesh Vyas on Aug 19, 2008 10:08 AM

How about reducing arrogance of these people who have ample job security and how about some respect for the common people. Also, how about lessening palm greasing if not eliminating it totally?
