Pay rise is not only desirable but a must keeping in view rising costs and pay structure in private sector. It is being heard that Govt simultaneously raising retirement age to 62 to bring down the adverse financial impact of pay hike. That will be suicidal for the nation. Let the decisions be taken with some national interest in mind rather than tiny political gains.

Unless people like us - who seldom vote - take the trouble of going out to vote, there is no redemption for the nation. After all it is the business of the politicians to make money and country's interest will be conflicting the personal interest. I think I am not wrong if I say that most MPs spend several crores to contest and they loose all that if they loose (very high risk investment is it not?) and expecting them to not make several times the amount spent will be foolish to say the least. Ponder.
