Because they cannot catch those guys in Hongkong, they are asking the new set up to pay the taxes.
It was the responsibility of the tax guys to ensure that the tax was fully paid before the Hongkong party expatriated the funds.
A common man is required to get several kinds of clearances from the government, including perhaps the income tax clearance certificate.
How come the repatriation of the capital of Hongkong party's profits, etc. were allowed to escape the country without paying the tax ?
Or is this an after thought of PC ?
He did this kind of mischief with ITC and extracted a lot of money from them.
He is going to do the same this with Vodafone-Essar.
A very bad and an abhorrable mentality of PC.
It is PC behind this whole affair.
