Negotiating with Govt agencies
by Sukhendu Patnaik on Sep 09, 2007 02:30 PM  | Hide replies

Most of the things work well in a structured negotiation. I am yet to see a negotiation skill effective enough to succeed in Govt agency negotiation. Though eventually business closes the deal, it does not necessarily fall within the wish-want-walk ambit. It's more sort of ensuring business continuity at any cost.

govt agencies? hah..its only bribing negotiations. You can quote somebody's name who paid less bribe and convince the govt guy to accept the same amount

Paused Negotiation
by TINDUTECH on Sep 09, 2007 09:18 AM  | Hide replies

Well, the idea of paused negotiation has started well during Chaanakya's time. It definitely works. In modern world pausing negotiations frequently results in a definite loss. It always gives the other person also to build up his profile for the next round of attack. These days we get a lot of paid professionals on both sides to use all these tactics with intelligence and spying on each other side rules the game.

The best way is to create a win-win situation and end a deal fast. These days no one is indespensible and there is always an alternate person waiting in the pipeline to strike the deal.

well, i guess chanakya also used spying and intelligence to complete his tasks.Best thing is to keep yourself in a stronger and indispensable position if you want to negotiate for a salary

True!! But...
by shiva degala on Sep 05, 2007 07:32 PM

True the article is and the tactic will really work wonderfull!!

But... do you wonder if the other person on the table is simply a idiotic person, dumb and just plays a pain in **s kinda role and not contributing. Then my experience says... don't break the negotiating process and let the other person scream and just watch the fun and have some good time. Beware that you are just watching the fun and make your mind that the negotiation is not going to work and don't involve yourself emotionally in the process. Have 30min of fun and take the BREAK!!!
