Power back up..
by Rackat Kanakam on Sep 01, 2007 02:15 PM

Reliance can think of these kind of mega stores because there is no power problem in Mumbai. The rest of Maharashtra is reeling under severe power cuts. But Mumbai will have unhindered power supply which in turn can power up these megashops. Small traders should look at other towns where power cuts are aplenty.

If you can't fight with them then you shld join them.
by Ketan Ketan on Sep 01, 2007 02:14 PM

Above is the only solution. Study, Get good degree and join Reliance at good salary. If you are an existing retailer then become their local outlet. Hwz the idea ?

Reliance Agro Goondaism
by Jai on Sep 01, 2007 02:05 PM  | Hide replies

Reliance intends to slowly dominate the agricultural sector, This retail plan will help them furthering their interest of running a parallel Government since 70% ofIndia depends on agriculture. That 70% will now depend on Reliance and may be the Ambanis will be the next Dictator to rule India like Musharaf who took control of military and then country. These monopolistic intentions of a crooked company like Relaince should be stopped for the interest of people of India. No one company whether Big or Small, Indian or MNC, should be allowed to gain so much clout and slowly capture the economy, more specially becoz they have gained money through cheating, bribing etc.

its bullshit, reliance do have the clout, but nowhere close to what yu are theorising. your poor farmers are right now forlorn. neither the government helping them, nor maybe the comrades. if they get a better deal than the middlemen fine! good for them!

There are only 2 type of people left in India. 1) one who enjoy and move or tilt in support of corruption, bribes, and all other major evils the Indian society is facing now and
2)second one who enjoy leading, changing society by listening to their conscience,do what is right, truth etc.

Theor entry in to Telecom sector brought competition in that sector...It is because of them that you are able to receive calls free and make calls at cheaper rate...In Srilanka people still pay for incoming calls as they don't have someone like Reliance. Similarly in Agro sector they will bring revolution. Atleast few farmers will take the suicide route. Right now local moneylenders and goondas own the farmers and their land and their houses. Reliance will change that.

How can it be proved in courts. They can bribe all the bureaucrats who are mere puppets if u can throw money. Being in India everybody knows about it and lets talk practical. instead of accusing each other. I repeat we should not allow anyone to gain so much clout or run a parallel economy

reliance freSh stores BY SHIP
by he fe on Sep 01, 2007 01:51 PM  | Hide replies

the idiots in this forum are no better than mayawati, mulayam and the red traitors. they are talking abt the vendors. don't they realise that the customers-- consumers will get them at a cheaper price. u mean to say that u are willing to pay a higher price to support xyz. by getting reliance etc, the farmers will also get a higher price --. u want to sacrifice all these interests for the normal vegetable vendor.
those people against corporates entering frsh produce-- need to get their head examined or they are on the take

Certainly the small trader will not suffer . U know very well the house wife canot in her morning busy schedule, go to Reliance to buy SOme green chilies and Coriander. She relies only on the small street vendor for her daily needs. She can afford to go to Reliance may be once a week. not daily. no time for it . So the small trader wil not sufer It will the middle man to suffer He can afford to suffer .!!

The Small traders can buy from these hyper markets , cash carry outlets and sell it. the Small traders customers look to him for door step service and not low prices. India is going through this cycle, all other economies have gone through this and MoM & Pop Stores have not collapsed but have evolved to provide better value to the consumer

Reliance venturing in all business including vegetable is good for the shareholders and director and abani families but what about small vendors. They need to be protected during transit period by some mechanism.

Why selling vegetables?
by GreatIndian on Sep 01, 2007 01:33 PM

You have capacity to build ships, satellites, big dams and big business. you have manpower to do the work common people can not do. you have resources to handle biggest possible business or ventures.

but, instead you are selling vegetables?

Apni aukat dikha di. Sabjiwala.
