IAS is just an entry level competent mindset known as the creamy layer,they generally get corrupted easily by the politicians by greed and fast money having palatial houses and enormous treasure by the time they quit the service. Salary hardly matters to them, only those with the national spirit and human touch to be considered or else its like a business and not a service to the nation.Hence, why discuss about their salary, when they can't instill fairness and justice in their own service without bias and prejudice.
Under-graduate Mariners with set paper competency exam. meant for operation and maintenance of ships placed in parity with the IAS cadre retiring in the grade of Addnl./Joint Secretary is unfair and biased, which leaves to poor national shipping administration, since they neither have long rich sea (practical) service nor theoretically sound, lacking academic nor technical qualification for onward research studies, in this innovative world, which is disgraceful. These Mariners give approve for themselves to be Dean and Directors of Maritime Academies/Institutions, on their leaving the department service. The incompetent talks high of competencies.
These guys are permanant unlike the ministers in their respective ministry.
When an organization called "Indian Railways" was running loss for all through its life before 4 years, many ministers came in and walked out. But all these white collar officials still were there gulping everything under their throat.
And when one minister could make it reap mind blowing profits year after year, what is the mistake in kicking out those who were sucking the blood for decades?
They will have to have a basic fixed pay and then rest should be based on performance like any other private sector organization.
Else, jus' privitize all this and let the citizens enjoy for what they pay for...
This is possible only if the Govt offices run like a pvt sector with no ministerial/ political influence when it comes to decsion making system. Hire & Fire should come into force. With today's political influence playing a havoc on the accountability of sarkaari babus, the very thought of Babus getting Private Sector Salary will remain a myth. Govt Perks retention therefore needs to be thought off only at a later stage.
Babus dont deserve any salary. As it is, they get crores of many "under the table". If you want to pay them private sector salaries, then pls guarantee that they will not take bribes.
please include their extra income as well into consideration while planning any pay commission. IAS= Indian annoying services, group of useless babus nothing else or privatize IAS & IPS completely
