HEFTY AMOUNTS TO CRICKETRS
by om makkar on Oct 02, 2007 02:18 PM

Cricketers are being paid hefty sums out of amount collected from the viewers, advertising rights and broadcasting rights sold by the BCCI and others. There has to be certain limits iin order to let them feel that game is not an adventure in the nature of commerce. major portion of the income of the organising bodies should be used in the development and maintenance of stadiums accross India, covering maximum possible remote areas also and on the provisioning of bats, balls, pads and other cricket accessories and for capacity building. The popularity of the game will spread, when more and more willing young generation gets the requisite infrastructure and support to excel in this game. The object should be to build in inflow of good players rather than making few players millionaire / billionaire. There is a very low attrition rate in cricket teams. This is because new competent players are not available in mass. WE need to utilise the funds for the betterment of game. Let the game not be professionalised with intent to make millions.

If they do charity it speaks their goodness but if they do not do, we do not have any right to cry over them.

Charity begins at home. Stop looking at others. You can not force anyone for charity and best part of it is that without advertisement one can do it. Ambanis are not going tell you about their charitable work.

Once there were charitable rich Indians. But in today's dog-eats-dog society in India only poor people do charities, but rich ones does not. Once we become rich, we know how useful money is, and how bad it could be without it. But charity is a volunteer job, you can not ask or force anyone to do that. And who knows, they may be doing some, we are not aware of.

WASTAGE OF TIME
by VIPUL MATHUR on Oct 02, 2007 01:37 PM  | Hide replies

People in India are without job, without work or do not want to work.
Why and how we are concerned for and against Ambanis as read hereunder in the messages posted on discussion board.
People are giving unnecessary advise to others, critisizing other when others are critisizing Ambanis.
No one is related to Ambanis than how for and against views will help anyone..
What a layman will do with per second income of Ambanis....
Every kind of malpractices are prevalent in both Ambanis group and it is a publicly known fact. They are progresing with their affiliation to one or the other political parties....
So nothing unusual about it....
Rediff too should post news items of National Interest or simply it seems that they as like other news channels wants to fill their space with more and more mirch masala just to get noticed..

Whay does Rediff indulge in such a short sighted story.
If Ambani is making money,he surely is making for his own self knowing very well that no body could carry money with himself after death.
The article shud have read Ambani distributing money to the down troden people of India which made sense

Rams we are not asking money for ourselves.
You can see the condn.in Bihar. If proper facility is not provided either by govt or NGO. (I am part of NGO) there will be definetly social unrest.
I am saying this as I am already contributing.
Let Ambanis do charity or not who cares.
The topic is if they do it will pool other resources together.
Else let him enjoy his money.
Every body can't ignore society.

Jitendra,
Not only Vijay, every one of us will be helping our neighbours, rather society as per our capacity.
Since Ambanis are of larger size their contribution should be sizeable.
Now Ambanis salary is posted we are at least in discussion.
If his contribtuion is posted, then we will be discussing that and perhaps appreciating.
Not only it will end there, it will also motivate others also to do such things.
Every good thing will start like this only.
When Gates started his foundation, Warren buffet himself contributed more than gates to his charity.
Our father of nation started as single person and we know all our grand fathers and mothers participated in freedom struggle
When good things done by famous people it will perculate easily to other masses.

Hi,
Mukesh is doing well to his company shares holders and Govt.
I think like Bill gates and Warren, he should also set up a foundation with money earned to help the poorest people to lead a better life by creating opportuniteis which he can do.
By this he will be remembered in history.
Take ITC. They are adopting many villages.

vidhya when it comes to advising others we are the first to do that. The irony is we dont practise the same.Tell me what are you doing to make a difference in others lives.

On the other hand Reliance has created hundreds of jobs and raised Indians standard in world market. For the Share holders there is no other reputed Company other than Reliance

Accepted.
Since you have asked I must tell that 1% of my earnings I am giving to society.
Apart from that there are other activities that are minuscule to put.
I never say Reliance is bad.
yes of course they have created wealth for many people who already knows how to create wealth.
When you think of people from poor village they don't know what to do if it rains or if no rain.
If economy is not opened may be we will be having a tough time.
Like that some sort of opening to be created for them. Then they will take care themselves.

businesses should be fair and with social responsibilities
by Chander Malik on Oct 02, 2007 12:45 PM  | Hide replies

There are nothing to fear as we are in a democratic country and court is here to watch these biggies.Hope you have seen Guru and remember how Dhiru bhai ambani has faced break on business when he has adopted wrong practices in business. The good thing about ambanis are they are capable of starting and managing business on large scales. its good for country and indian economy. But Mukesh is very ambitious for money and somewhere its feel that he wants to earn money on any condition. Even after aparting the business, mukesh is intruding in his bro businesses. One has to be satisfied and happy what he has got from almighty and should not earn money on some one else loss. Its right ambanis are earning money for shareholders but its shareholders only who will suffer if they committed any mistake in their race for business and earning money. So far they are earning money with good business practices and with social responsibilities there is nothing to fear.

TO AAP KYA LAXMI MITTAL HAI BHAISAAB. IT'S NOT ONLY MONEY WHICH MATTERS. THERE ARE OTHER IMPORTANT THINGS IN LIFE ALSO. DO NOT MAKE MONEY THE ONLY MATTER. WE AS INDIANS SHOULD NOT BECOME OBBSESSED BY THE AMBANIS. IF THEY ARE GIVING JOBS TO PEOPLE IT DOES NOT MEEN THEY ARE FEEDING THEM. THEY NEED PEOPLE TO RUN THEIR BUSINESS. WE ARE TALKING ABOUT THE BUSINESS ETHICS HERE.

for your kind information. i can never bear a abhisheck bacchan movie and i never watched that movie. and i am not teaching business ethics. we are just discussing it. there are far much better talent and brains in india them ambanis but simply they do not bribe politician. i want to mention the vicky reply here.

in this counrtry of crooked politicians and buraucrats you need people like Mukesh Ambani who know how to work their way up by bribing them and pouring heavy money into politicians pockets for sundry licences in the guise of political donations...Pramod Mahajan was instrumental in the growth of Anil Ambani's company Reliance Com...when it was openly flouting TRAI's regulations...So,is the same with the elder brother...Tata group didn't grow at that pace because it's ideology restricted it from lobbying and bribing these politicians and people who mattered...
