God is great, no Bangalore this time.
by SRIKANTH S on Nov 15, 2007 05:27 PM  | Hide replies

Certainly we are happy that Bangalore is not in the list.. Fed up of the news of Bangaloreans , Bangalore industries, IT cos, Real estate, Bangalore pubs, Gardens....... Never ending news of bangalore, worst part is TV Media , websites and newspapers also focus bangalore like heaven or the most happening city.. Thats certainly bad.. Bangalore is far away from NewYork, Tokyo, London, Germany, Singapore, and so-on..

So, rediff stop writing about bangalore, NDTV, CNN there are many cities other than bangalore. News papers stop writing on Narayan Murthy, Mallya, Premji, Nandan Nilekani, Phaneesh , Gopinath,Kiran Shaw, Jerry Rao, Kriss, Paul etc.

You comments are rubbish...

Bangalore is the best city in India. Bangalore rocks... When Team India captian stepped down, they had no other choice but to choose another Bangalorean as captian.

Do Billionnnaires are more worthy?
by rajesh on Nov 15, 2007 05:21 PM  | Hide replies

I think we simply ape the west in adoring the billionnaires. What is more important is how they made the money and what contributions they have made to the society and the country than piling-up billions. We have umpteen no. of not-so-rich souls in India who have done so much for the poor and the society than some of the billionaires. Shouldn't we iconize such people who can be inspirations for the younger generations ?...

Indian billionaires INVENTED NOTHING but are FAT CATS at the cost of millions of hard working sweating poor people making money through monopolistic practices and bribing central and state governments.

Chath... 60% of their wealth is only manipulating the networth of their companies, creating a hype in the stock exchange, overcharging on subscription at the time of IPO etc. If you really do an indepth audit of these firms, their networth would become less than half.

but delhi beats mumbai in show business
by reformer on Nov 15, 2007 05:14 PM  | Hide replies

Mumbai must learn how to show the wealth. In mumbai,if required, welthy person doesn't bother to travel by local trains while in delhi, same person will wait for hours to travel by car ( sorry its AC). In mumbai, generally wedding won't last more than one day but delhi, if somebody does it, it means he has become bhikari.

Too many billionaires is actauly a BAD THING, it means most people are pathetic and poor and wealth is concentrated in a few hands.

China's economy is triple than India's yet China has not even a single billionaire. On the same scale China could have had triple the number of billionaires as well, but it hasn't. IT ONLY MEANS Wealth in China is distributed MORE EQUALLY.

India is dump.

suicides and poor remaining poor has nothing to do with millionaires or billionaires.. that is the direct reflection of the corruption at the government.
a simple question is: where does the tax paid by the millionaires/billionaires and common man goes.... where does the budgetted and sanctioned amounts of specific projects and programmes for upliftment of the poor goes...
it is just corruption, corruption and corruption by the babus and elected representatives.
I bet there are hundreds of billionaire politicians in INdia whose wealth is not reflected in the books et all

Right now we have plethora of billionaires but majority of Indians live a pathetic life.

rich getting richer poor getting poorer.

Price of living a decent middle class life is GETTING OUT OF REACH OF THE AAM AADMI.

Look at China, buys 6 million cars versus 1.1 million for India it means wealth is distributed more equally. NOT EVEN A SINGLE BILLIONAIRE IN CHINA !

throw these billionaire OUT who are becoming FAT CATS at the cost of millions of common Indians through monopoly practices.
