i think mumbai is very expensive coz i live in mumbai & i know its expensiveness i live in the matunga area of mumbai where i pay 98500 per month's rent which is very expensive, the posh areas like powai are far away from proper mumbai so they are cheaper as compared to areas like cuffe parade, i think that these rankings are right
I am wondering what factors have been cnsidered for this ranking.... I am living in zurich and we pay around INR 95,000 for 3BHK apartment.... I believe it is costlier than Mumbai.... :-(
This list is not accurate . We are paying 500 Rials per month for 2 BHK Apartment in Muscat Al-Khawair . That comes out to be RS 53000 per month . You get much better apartments in Mumbai by paying this much amount . - L&T Guys
This list can be termed Accurate since Mumbai is indeed very expensive for the Money you might spend to attain a acceptable standard of living . There are very few areas in the city with a acceptable level of roads and infrastructure and to have a flat in those areas is indeed costly . So in terms of the moneys worth it is indeed very costly. i guess it is the same story in most big cities
This list is bullshit! Brussels (Belgium) is worlds most expensive city. Can you imagine paying Euro 3500 (per month) rent for a 2 bedroom flat? Live in Brussels and you will know!
Yes, it is really great that india and the city like mumbai.. has some ranking with the Top most internatioal cities and really the goverment should put the financial HUB in the Mumbai it relly helps to get buisness in international market..
Comparing Mumbai living std with Internation cities are really good / biggest joke in rediff. There is no value for money in India. First we have to make it. How much money we are giving the rent is not matter. That amount is really worth or not for the city is the matter.

in hirandani it will cost rs 6000per square feet. means an 3 bedroom approx of rs 1000 sqare feet will cost rs 60 lacs . keep in mind this is superbuilt up area . the actaul will be 27% less which is carpet araea apart from the above we need to shell out rs 2 lacs for car parking and every month aprrox rs 6000 for maintanience.
My bad I read it as 7th most explosive city. Hmm btw what credit do we take from being a very expensive city? barring the obvious, realestate scoundrels and babus.?
