i bhupinder singh from himachal predesh village garoh hereby declared that the defination of riches and happiness is totaly dubious in ecomomic sence, the delevopment of capitalist society is totaly hypotheticaly, i lived in hilly area, we enjoyed the best fruits, crop and best love among our relatives and at home, becuase we are land owning comunity,, so many of things come as fee, living in village , there was no shortage of water, food and accomodation,, after completing my graduation i went to changidarh, in serch of job,, the private sector job was in 1991 was very hard to get , without any super ficial knowledge of high degree and high knowledge how to serve the small capitalist with short cut methods of minting money and stealing texes, i came to know the real face of working in private sector, i knew how the hotel onwers , manager exploit people from village , hilly region, what i started earning 1000 rupees, i paid on my accomodatin , electricity, water and transport bill and i had to do my duty from morning till evening,, back at home i enjoyed all facilities free of cost,,i saw lot of people from bihar up and other state living in slum san every human facilities,, this is worst experiences of my life, , for short span i went to bombay , i saw bombay in very bad sence, poverty , prostitution and robbery, mafia, what a hell to live in bombay, the train services of bombay are worst in the world with passanger triple the capacity, traveling in them a harrowful experience, alighting and picking was most dangerous , any one can fall and die,, wht a harrowful experieince , i came to know about the rich and poverty of india, back in village we were most followers of our faith , true to ethics and full of humanist, i saw how humanity in metro is full of demonness and cruetly,,india is still going the capitalist way of eradicating the socialistic way of life and concentrating overthe turnover,, in village i never had coca cola, there were plenty alternative like mongoes, cucumber, plenty of fruits in field, i still miss the bounty ofnature and pleasure of living in hill area,, alas every thing is lost in this development race, how human being has become the beast of hunger and lust, sex, gambling, looting and mafaiism has become the sysbol of our culture,,,i living in newzealand still catch the reminiscence of our childhood, how the real india have changed, how the innocent of people have been robbed by media and capitalist society

The riches are measured in market capitalisation
by VENURAJA Bowenpalle on Mar 13, 2007 02:51 PM  | Hide replies

The market capitalization means you shall multiply the share's market value with number of shares (the rich man holds).
Obviously Tata is not there in the list of billionairs but Kalanidhi Maran is there like Mr.Narayana Murthy or Azim Premji or some one called Kushpal Singh or somebody called Grandhi Rao.
If tomarrow biotechnology, or Nano technology become a hot industry with immediate profits you would have some one called "nobody" entering the ladder of list called the billionairs list.
On the other hand if you were to establish a green field venture like that of Tata steel it would be at huge cost of thousands of crores of rupees.
It is true that Mr.Pallonji Mistry family ownes majority of shares in the holding company of all Tata companies "Tata sons ltd." and Pallonji Mistry is there in the list of billionaires.
TATA's may hold about 25% of TATA SONS LTD. but then many of earlier tata's bequeathed their assets in the name of some trusts for social cause.
Now those billionairs in the list should encash their shares at least 2 or 3 percent of them and form tursts for social cause just because they become billionaires in a sociaty and that they owe something back to it.
You can not become billionaire out of nothing because you can not print the currency or dig out gold. People are giving you the money and investors (small retail investors ) creating something called share value to your company and in turn you enter the list of billionairs with great market capitalisation.

Venuraja Gopal.

99 % billionaries have lot of wealth because they are lucky, may be in their kundali jupiter in Dhana sthana or karma sthana and in that sthana may be cancer rashi or pisces rashi, may be libra rashi's saturn, may be aries rashi's sun etc., they are all billionaries due to devotion of intelligent, hard working, energetic, handsome employees like me

Corporate responsibility

It is shocking to note if what Mr. Roy says is true that there is a cap on the salary limit of workers among Godrej employees.

Companies should aim to increase profits which is why they exist, so that they can continue to invest further and develop newer opportunities for employment this in turn would spread wealth. That is welcome.

There is however no logic in CEO's and top executives earning unlimited salaries while their workers down the line are limited to paltry sums. There is a limit to what we all can eat and drink.

These billionaires must ensure that those working for them must be taken care of well by providing them with all facilities to meet basice needs like a proper house, education for their children, health care etc.

Like Roy and many of us who think along the same lines Economic development is only good if it can touch the lives of the poorest of the poor and their standard of lving is improved. In a country of 1 billion it is not a great thing to have 36 US Dollar billionaires while over 300 million lives on less than a dollar a day.

By the way has any one realised how far 1 billion dollars can go. Even if one spent 10,000/- dollars every day it would take you nearly 274 years to finish it. Don't believe what I say work out the numbers yourself.
