McDonalds is just a fast food chain...and its sad to see how long it has taken the kolkatans to present an environment conducive to its launch...
i just hope they take it for what it is...a corner burger shop where you can grab a quick bite or throw a kiddie party sometime...rather than behave like the snobs they become whenever they enter places that define urban comeuppance; malls, multiplexes and so on.
though McD's has played its cards well, by deciding to open the first outlet at Park St, the ultimate glam destination for every kolkatan wannabe...

i totally agree with you...in US it makes the worst tasting burgers...compared to others like Burger king, Wendy's etc Mac burgers taste like total shi** ..hope the quality wud b better in india...
This is indeed a good move by McDonalds.Now Kolkatans can also boast of having world class restaurants.Though, I don't stay in Kolkata,but at least when I will visit there,I will be able to savour McDonalds' world class food.

I am sure they will do that Osho...because McDonalds is known for its customisation of foods depending on the country/taste of the people. For example all over the world they have beef in their menu while they with drew it from Mumbai (of course after some protests) after conssidering the sentiments Indians have for the holy cow.So definitely they will have fish in their Kolkata menu...
Living overseas, I have always cherished dining at McDonalds' for a long time.Whenever I visit Kolkata for my vacation, I really miss McDonalds, since there was no joint in Kolkata.
I think durig my vacation thisyear,I would be lucky to dine at McDonalds and enjoy their cuisine.
