Give the population and nature of the heterogeneous growth in this country, there are not many but only a few in business circles who believe in Corporate Social Responsibility. Even though many economic theories suggest %u201CWhat goes around comes around%u201D, it is not understood and the thrust is always on maximizing profit. Eventually their own disregard of the society and environment creates such conditions where the businesses find it hard to sustain. If only our businesses were awake to this fact, India would have very well built a significant infrastructure during the last few years of liberalization.
