Accident Insurance Claim Pay
by on Jun 09, 2007 11:27 PM

I was in a car accident and suffered a head injury.also my neck was hurt and my right knee,
I'm seeing the P/t and the chrioropartor, and the nuroligist. I was told the more doctor the more doctor seen the more money.
But some one else that was injured in a car says the opposite, the less you see the Doctor the more your settlement will be. Because they have to pay off the Doctor bills. And your settlement after paying off the lawyer will be nothing.????????????
Is this true

Insurance claims procedures.
by Dipankar Ganguly on Jun 07, 2007 10:07 AM

The people indeed face a hell of routines and procedures in claiming their genuine claims for accidents. This needs to be taken up by IRDA with the Govt. to modify the Motor Vehicle Accident Act and with the players in the field to be more consumer-friendly and cooperative and sensitive to the public instead of interested in procuring buiness by sweet talks, tall claims and hopeless performance later.

Never trust Private insurance agencies!!!

Before taking insurance: So sweet words, over- obedient nature from everybody including top-managers etc. What else other than showing heaven on their office with huge false promises.

After taking insurance: You will be one among the stray-dogs. Anybody can take revenge on you.

My experience with ''All State Insurance''
by RajneeshChandraMohan Jain on Jun 05, 2007 01:44 PM  | Hide replies

Accident happened when I tried to enter high way by looking at only on side of the road. Car from other side came and hit my the side of my car. Other guy tried his best to stop his car. Damage to his car was minor compared to damage to my car. (His front bumper hit my car's rear passenger side.) Each of us noted down each other's car registration number and parted away.

I called my Insurance company (All State Insurance) and told them that I got involved in an accident. Agent asked me first thing whether any one got injured in my side. I said no. Then he was asking me whether he can send some one to do an estimation on damage. I said ok and setup appointment next day.

Appraisal officer came next day morning. He took photos of the damage. And asked me to describe the incident. He took note of that. He got the registration number of the other vehicle.

Then he gave me 3 options :

1. He would issue a cheque for $3,700 and call the closed. All state won't care whether I fix it for $500 and keep the rest.

2. I can take it any body shop I want. And All state 'll pay the body shop repair costs They 'll pay rental costs for new vehicle until my car gets fixed from body shop. And they 'll pay be $500 for my inconvenience of the accident.

3. All State would send me a rental car right away and take my car for repair in their shop. This also includes $500 inconvenience fee paid to me by Allstate.

I took the first option. He wrote a cheque right away and gave it to me. It too

(Sorry part of message didn't go through)

I took the first option. He wrote a cheque right away and gave it to me. It took me only $1250 to fix it. I kept the rest. (This is not fraud from All State's point of view. Because best body shop would demand $3000-$3500 to fix the damage. And if customer can fix it for cheaper and keep the rest. They are happy as it makes the customer happy. I was indeed happy.)

IMHO, this supposed to be the way an Insurance should work.

An accident is an accident. No one does it intentionally. Accident it self a headache and we consumer running to police station to file FIR and filling all crappy forms just brings more headache.

If some Insurance company willing to offer similar service, I would be more than willing to pay 50% more premium.

Movers & packers

I had the same experience with movers & packers guys.I had shifted my stuff from noida to bangalore. They damaged the bike, washing machine and tv is now a piece of junk. And on top of this those guys are giving me false promises of comming for inspection.
Its my suggestion for all the guys shifting
1)insure all ur stuff, you may have to spend extra money but its worth it.
2)If ne stuff is damaged donot give the bills to them until they repay.

One addition to that is go for only the nationally known Packers and Movers. Not to any tom, dick and harry who starts calling them Packers and movers just by claiming that they can pack ur luggage.. Moreover, it is from my personal experience, may or may not offend some one but try to deal with some hindu person. they are still found better in service when compare to other community.

why so many procedures for claim I do not understand. It seems like more reasons not ot give money. One report at insurance office should do everthing rather than asking people to go and report it on streets and police stations. When insurance money is paid we donot go to any of this middle man. It is shame of insurance company if it cannot do everthing on its own with somany people eating our money and doing nothing
