This is sad to hear...

The article just shows us how the government can come up with any law that serves it purpose or those of the wealthy.. I dont understand y does the government have to get into this in the first place.. Cant we have a SEZ in rural Maharashtra or any other backward region ? Mumbai is as it is getting filthier day by day and this kind of an artificial interference is only likely to worsen the situation.. Thanks Rediff for bringing about the issue.. Media should come forward to explain the corruption and mismanagemnt here.. Unfortnately I am ill equipped to help the farming community there.

And he is, probably for that reason, rather energetic about 'people to people' initiatives and about lighting candles in Wagah. You should highlight this facet of his life (which is current) if you highlight his credentials as an Admiral (which is in the past).

who is this Julia, creating devision in the thinking of the people. Dont forget our India has accepted Sonia Gandhi, and will accept anyone as long as they are indians. We are united. Corporate interest should not be served. This is not some zoo or something so that we can shift generation in the name of development.

So what if he has a paki s-i-l, he has the guts to pick up a worthy cause. All the past govt are responsible to for the pathetic state Mumbai is in and the same would happen to a nice little alibaug. People of India have to support the cause of the poor who are uprooted, for a change india bulls should start by providing these people some 5000sq.ft of a plush flat in uptown cuffe parade for an exchange, after all alibaug is closer to cuffe parade & the sea is common.

Extinction of Common Man

Its sad that ordinary citizens no longer can have an equal share of justice served upon them..
Look at these hypocritic Politicians splashing every paper with news about reservation and ensuing Janta Seva but corrupt to the core by evicting these fisherfolk, living where they are for centuries only because money exchanged hands !
We do need another Quit India Movement to show these scums the door..

correct! the government is looking for the upliftment of the poorer and downtrodden people, namely the rich and the wealthy! why else would it choose agricultural land of poor farmers for SEZs when there are so many barren lands all over!!
