INDIA-ASEAN TIES
by on Jan 15, 2007 07:40 AM

India should understand that they are in a better position now with the Economy growing to the highest level as compared to any of the Asean Countries. But at the same time have to understand that all the ASEAN countries are also developed or developing nations and so we should not try to take advantage but try to built long terms relations with them and take opportunity in fields of Infrastructure , tourism ,service industry where we are lacking to maintain longterm and consistent economy.

This ties will also help India not be too dependent on the USA / European Nations as than any recession in Economy there will not affect our Economy due to our ties with the ASEAN Countries.

We should work for the integration of cultures of the regions in order to create a friendly relationship between the people. As a first step, the railways should lay the tracks and introduce trains which will be a boost to tourism in addition to mingling of the people. This will also create lot of economic oppurtunities. Instead of only talking, we should start to walk the talk in a few areas atleast.

PM is definitely taking positive steps to fulfil all the concerns of its citizens. Reporting its progress to other countries is also to report to the own country as well.

Good Move. Intra Regional Flows should boost the Freight/ transportation industry. Time will tell whether we achieve what borderless European Union has achieved i.e. Free trade, Common and powerful currency.

Indian Govt. should first of all think of integrating all the States together in terms of taxation, uniform rules for free movement of goods from one state to another, one common official language for all states, equal educational systems and rules for all states, etc. Indian govt. should try to remove barrier between states and try to integrate the states and make a strong nation, instead of going outside doing the same.

It is certainly a good move for India to get integrated economically with ASEAN countries. But before that it is really desirable for Indian states to get integrated with one another.

I wonder why Indian Govt not looking forward to remove the huddles to allow free movement people and commodities in between Indian states. even if we travel in a hired car have to pay tax entering another state. 'Mahe' is a small place inside kerala but being part of pondichery admin. Every thing in Mahe is less tax and cross the road oposit in Kerala have to pay double or more price due to heavy tax. Last Finance minister Kerala add another feather of tax for crosing through Kerala Mahe Bar owners pay Rs25000/load instead of 2500. People saying the story behind this minister asked the bar owners to pay him 2 crore for removing this tax. Bar owners desided to go to court better than paying the minister which is much cheaper even if they hire a leading advacate in supreme court. Before leting free trade with other countries India should change the present system inside. It shopuld be Uniform tax anywhere in india If any FM of the states violate this he shoild be stoped by court.

In United states each individual considerd as a US sitison, he never called by a state which he belongs to. In India such system should be devoloped. Any Indan can move and live anywhere as an Indian he should not branded himself by him or others as the state he belongs. we are all Indians one nation one people. similarly any comodities can be moved anywhere with one time tax. States and center should think about it. Reagional political parties also should change their attiude instead of political advantage misguiding the comon peaple in the name of language, religion cast and all. Today you are reagional leader tomorrow you will become national leader..so one India one people is better today itself.
