Foreign Law firm should be allowed in India to operate. But on the principle of Reciprocity. Our Lawyers are not trained in the Art of Advocacy like the Barristers in UK. It would definately improve the legal standards here.

This is all bad whether they allow reciprocal. India lawyer are good enough for India. Multinmational prefer International lawyers as they are familiar with them and thats the reason they coming in India. See All Big 4 Accounting firms or risk consulting firms like protiviti recently. Lawyers should not allow entry in India other wise the busienss model will be - be slave of this big paying multinational players.
That is reasonable! Let this Ghoras allow our lawyers in their countries! British Police and Judges can make some money! Our guys will definitely bribe them!!!!
Practicing won't be difficult to them academically! Majority of our Constitution is the cut and past copy of British Constitution!
if we want foreign lawyers etc , why not import a foreign leader, PM/FM. etc, if they are better and good than ours why not, we have right to have a better

lawyers are not like leaders!they are equal to any other profession like Doctor,Plumber,Electrician,Engineer etc.
Offcourse foreign law firms should be allowed to establish offices in India. if indian lawyers can raise voice infront of FIPB for FOREIGN CLIENT S THEN Y NOT IN THEIR OWN FIELD?
British Indian Lawyers Association? Where is this in Britain? Whats the registration process? There is hardly any representation for Indian Lawyers in Britain. Dear Head of the Association, email me your details.
Rather than be bogged down by narrow nationalist issues, let us look at the broader perspective. How about ensuring that foreign law firms hire only Indian graduates to work in India? And that their India offices function as autonomous entities; something on the lines of Maruti which looks set to overtake Suzuki, its parent company. This will generate employment in India and uplift the pathetic state of advocates' lives, most of whom slog it out for as low as 10000 PM. Legal sector is the next big thing for India Inc. Let us not impede it's progress.

Yes...Our polititians are a shit yaar...And second thing...why do people sitting and enjoying their lives in Britain are opposing this...They went to make money for themselves and now when the chance is there for their Indian peers to step and make their mark they are opposing...Silly people...Nobody thinks about the country...They just think about themselves...
Hence it is imperative to appreciate 'diversity' in Governance(Legislature,Judiciary,Administration) and Private Institutions (Reliance, Infosys etc) in order to prevent socio-economic 'collusion' in India.
Government of India should implement 'reservations' in Judiciary and Private Institutions as per Caste Census in India.

. 52% of Judges should be from OBC. 2. 29% Judges should be Dalits and Tribals. 3. Remaining Judges should be from other castes.
I am reminded of the Shole Movie where Asrani the Police Inspector says... Half police to my Right .. Half to my left and remaining follow me.... Its high time when the ordinary citizens beg to the government for reserving 10% of the govt. jobs.
Certainly a big NO. Foreign law firms are expected to be less corrupt and they actually study the case before they handle it. So this will destroy the careers of our own "poor" and "shareef" lawyers.
I wish the govt had shown some foresight when they allowed foreign accountancy firms into India. The % of CA's opting for practise has almost been reduced to zero. Our CA's are now working as slaves in MNC's rather than building businesses of their own
