There are service centers which exists like SONY AUTHORIZED CENTER etc. which gave millions of jobs to technicians. Now a days, these were gone, and those decent guys who got decent income are doing fruit stalls. Rediff can interview one electronics guys interview in the rediff column, he will tell you the story.

Superiority Complex, Anyone ?
by Saurabh Shukla on Aug 22, 2007 07:30 PM  | Hide replies

Seems to me that the Japs think they are holier than us.

They use more nuclear energy than anyone else in Asia - given their environment, their security of their own nuclear energy establishments is shaky, as evidenced by the recent damages at one of their plants that were leaked in the popular media.

And to top it all off, the frigtards think their crap don't stink all the while pleasuring their American masters who blew the living daylights out of them. Have they forgotten that the only country missing from the list of condoners of that fateful day from years long ago are there very benefactors.

They can afford to ignore India, can they - well they can at their own peril.

Rise and shine India, the sun is up, time to make hay...

I agree with you partially. You have to remember that they are the ONLY country in the world who has seen nuclear devastation. Millions and millions of people dying and a generation getting lost is no small thing.

In 5000 yrs of history, we had only one war with China. But majority of Indians do not see chinese as trustworthy people. It is the same thing with Japs. It is mass mentality.

And Japs could afford to India. Not anymore. And that is why they are here now. We have lots and lots of common ground - not to mention China our common 'enemy'.

You should remember that strategic partnership with Japan has born most fruits in India - more than with any other country.

Finally, yeah rise and shine India..

Here is the link to that accident:

"With the Indian Navy as the only reliable navy in this zone, Japan expects it to maintain security in case something happens." Patronizing scum bags ...

If I didn't feel sorry for them, what with them being such an ancient people and all, and today being so ultra servile to their American masters, I would go yakuza on their ass...

Also..what power do they have? they are not even allowed to have navy or army. They have american bases all over. If america pulls out today, they would be like a lion without teeth

They are rich PARTLY because they could focus all on technology. While india had to take care of so many stupid neighbors.

I dont mean to say that they are not great..they are, but make comparisons a little bit logically

Dude, I appreciate that like me, you also believe that we need to keep improving.. no doubt, the sky is the limit, we need to be the beacons for the rest of the planet like our ancestors were...

In the meanwhile, I'm not going to take BS from wannabes... sure the Japs have made some achievements, but to me anyone who forgets who they are, anyone who forgets their History, well they don't rank highly in my book.

I attempt to believe in learning from everyone, human or otherwise, I try to find what's working and what's good, regardless of the source, and see if I can implement that in my life and in fact try to better it.

BUT, I'm going to call a spade a spade.

BTW, how's the fast bowling... and don't sell yourself low, at least not the rest of your brethren.

Someone being better than someone, well, who defines "better" ... you may think that responding to your Marine drill seargent when he refers to your family with the choicest of expletives deserves a "sir yes sir and may I have another" response, but that doesn't mean that the rest of mankind does to.

are you stupid roger? Japs are masters of their own destiny?

How stupid can you be? Since WWII, they have been nothing but American puppets. Japs have tremendous inferiority complex compared to americans. If you think our youth imitates US, you should see Jap youth.

The smartest thing India has done is not to be anyone's puppet (except USSR for a while) and no amount of progress can pay for self-respect. We could have been on American side had we allowed them to establish their air-bases in India (like pakis did).

Education baby education..go back to history books..

and..when you get some time, let me know how does it feel to be born in a 'coolie country'? does it feel really really terrible to live like an indian everyday when you see so many progressed bangladeshis, pakis, and japs enlightened men and women?

dude..forget this debate..go home and take a pill of self-confidence (some jap company must be manufacturing that)

jap might be the second biggest economy in the world, that doesn't stop them from imitating US and be their puppet..again, READ

Correction mr.Binny

I agree Japs have quality of life...

but, Indians are not known as Dirty where ever they go, may be you are dirty in your own village.

Don't forget to look at yourself, if you are Indian.

if you believe in numbers and attribute that to the quality of life, there are many billionires in India than in Japan.

Either you are an imbecile or ignorant.

See the much superior parameters for such a "small country".

Japan Life expectancy - 81 years
India Life expectancy - 64 years.

Hazards - many dormant and some active volcanoes; about 1,500 seismic occurrences (mostly tremors) every year; tsunamis; typhoons. Bombed totally in World War 2, Industrial strength razed to ground.

Japan HIV patients: 12,000
India HIV patients: 5.1 million

Japan GDP 4.9 trillion dollars for a population of 127 million ranked 2nd. wow for a tiny island.

India GDP - 796 billion ranked 11th with a population of 1010 million (8 times more than Japan)

Japan Inflation rate - 0.4%
India Inflation rate - 5.3%

Japan national budget 1.4 trillion dollars.
India national budget 109 billion dollars for much larger population.

Japan Electricity production - 974 billion kwh for a population only 12% of India.

India electicity production - 630 for population 8 times larger.

Japan exports $590 billion for a small country.
India exports $150 billion dollars with a much larger work force.

Japan foreign exchange reserves $864 billion.
India - 190 billion dollars.

Japan Number of Airports - 175
India - 341

Lastly Japan Per capita income PPP - $33,000
India - $3700 (average Indian makes 9 times less than average Japanese at the base worker level)

BOTTOMLINE - If I were a Japanese I will be making 10 times more than Indian, living in a sparkling clean disci

India: an army of its own that can go anywhere
Japan: an army more like a police-crew to american army. some goras tell me how to behave in my interaction with world.

there are some things money can't buy..for everything else, there is mastercard. (thought you would appreciate money only judging from ur MBA degree)

BOTTOMLINE - If I were a Japanese I will be making 10 times more than Indian, living in a sparkling clean disciplined country, manufacture world's best products in their segments like cars and consumer electronics, not be suppressed by a neighbor 10 times in size who occupies my land with pride even after being defeated thrice, be having one of the world's hard currency, have lesser price rise, and of course live almost 20 years longer than my Indian counterpart, and of course will be much much richer.

Do some research before opening your mouth with ignorant comments.

If a small country having zero natural resources, having earthquakes, and natural disasters, plus being bombed with nuclear weapons can achieve so much, I think everyone will agree to certain good qualities in Japanese people.

I couldn't agree more with you. I did an MBA in Japanese Management from US, did my internship in japan for 6 months and returned to India to work for my nation and its economy. Another fellow Indian student stayed back in Japan. A decade later, we both have our own companies but he is maybe 100 times richer, has more opportunities and less red tape and corruption to deal with. My time goes in paying bribes to govt. officials, teaching my workers and staff the very basic management and quality principals and dealing with all sorts of crises one after the other on a daily basis. Maybe this will ring a bell with small entrepreneurs who started from scratch in this country with no money, no powerful connections but only a good quality education and a steely determination to make the best quality product/offer the best services from my country to the rest of the world. I am an optimist and love my country and hope things will change for the better in the near future. Jai Hind.

Japan, India break trade impasse over luncheon
by sanjaya gupta on Aug 22, 2007 07:09 PM  | Hide replies

We should not compare ourselves with other nations where manufacturing is booming. Countries like Korea, China, Germany, Sweden, Japan are throughbred they have taken short cuts like us in national development.

We took short cuts and developed services which does not require strong infrastructure through out the country, some metros and their suburs have international class commercial buildings which support the IT & ITES boom. Worst still 90% of these buildings run their own municipalities - trutfully non exsistance of drainage, swearage, electric supply leaves no choice for the developers to run these buildings as stand alone.

I think we do not inspire confidence in big manaufactures to put up their plans in the country, Japan being a manufacturing giant would obviously go to places like China, Singapore, East Europe, Malayasia etc.

Playing warm hosts from several centuries have not given us much filip in our growth.

Liberalisation does not mean non governance and no intervention - we confuse ourselves. Govt. has to take onus to make India a world class country. The development has to be overall and not in pockets - then we will attarct big economies to invest here.

Services economy makes us vulnerable, the sub prime is already playing havoc with IT & ITES - Mortgage BPOs are closing shop over night !! the choice is ours do we want to be so fragile or a strong manaufacturer ?
