Cyberworld and Remote Tribal Villages.
by Rajesh Toppo on May 03, 2007 10:02 AM

The good work done by Orissa Goverment is commendable. But as the report suggests that Anganwadis dont cover 100% of Orissa, I want to draw everyone's attention to remote Tribal villages of Orissa. Tribal Villages are so remote that they are almost inaccessible by road. The negligence of the lower rung state officials is pathatic and almost racial. Special efforts has to be made to bring these Tribal population in to the mainstreame of Orissa/India's development. The carefree lifestyle nature of Tribals is one of the difficulties to bring change in Tribal Sociecty, but proper education, espicialy Girls education can deliver the results. Orissa's strides in Industrial Development is good for everyone but the Tribals won't be able to benefit from this growth as they are not educated or have the skills to work in an industrilized Orissa. The Naxalities and anti social elements are waiting in the wings to take advantage of the situation. Navin Patnaik is expected to work for all sections of the society and underprevileged SC/ST people in particular. Jai Utkal....

Sure Rashmi, Orissa is emerging but the development needs to trickle down to all sections of the society. One sided development will create tension and hatred in society as in the case of UP and Bihar. Tribals in Karnataka are almost extint and this should not happen in our Orissa.

Orissa Marches Ahead
by Bankim Mazumdar on Apr 30, 2007 04:25 PM

It is all happening in Orissa thanks to tireless efforts of our beloved CM, naveen Patnaik, the worthy successor to great Bijuji.

His clean image, good grasp of problems hunting Orissa, firm handling of political and administrative issues etc have endeared him to the people of Orissa. Unlike many of his predecessors he does not believe in only self-advertisement. He translates his promises into deeds.

Orissa is now breathing a new life. Everywhere there are developmental works viz roads/bridges are constructed/renovated, agriculture, industry, IT fields are now almost rocking.

But, some politicians are now envious of his achievements and popularity. These fellows foment troubles at Kalinga Nagar or Paradeep or Keonjhar or Dhamra.

The stepmotherly attitude of UPA Govt at Centre is also a negetive aspect. But, still Naveen Govt is destined to get re-elected with thumping majority and hopefully, this time even without BJP support!

Long live Orissa. Naveenji get ahead, for ever! Your political enemies won't be able to even touch you!

E-Pragati in Orissa
by Sanjaya Mishra on Apr 30, 2007 03:31 PM

This clearly shows that the net is more needed for the poor than the rich, equally valid as an instrument of development as capital and is not even a day late so far as any stage of development is concerned.

To use this tool properly the Govt must strictly deal with cyber-crimes,the trade must pass on all the benefits of disintermediation and the policymakers must use it as life and blood.

One should go to two very net-centered developed countries i.e Estonia and Finland to see how access to net has been made a fundamental right of the citizens.
