seems like a hidden promotion of the online gaming rather than an article.. & yes.... this cud be one more type of use of interenet which is mostly used for info.
This is for 3D geeks what they can loojk forward to . How they way common men like us live and work will change due to emerging internet tech like web 2 , web 3 , integration with mobile computing is the real stuff which needs to be covered
While the article has focussed mainly on the visual aspects of Internet in the future, It would have been much better if they had also made mention of how the internet (in the future) is poised to change the lives of millions of people.
Anyways, I also feel that giving so much importance to Virtual Worlds seems a bit abnormal to me. Im afraid that it will slowly induce a false sense of achievement to the people. Getting addicted and spending longer times in such virtual worlds might end up making them major losers in real life, instead of inspiring them to replicate their successes from the virtual world into the real world.
Although the user does try to touch a lot of areas, still, to me, the article seems to leave a lot of areas. It just focuses on 3-D modelling and avatars of people interacting on the Net. However, what about the unmanageable information glut that has already taken menacing proprtions. Information management and easy, usable presentation is what the future Internet ought to be developed around. To me, the future of Internet holds in much more power with much more simplicity. I am not too sure how would a 3-D virtual world will help me do that! I would always prefer a simple text input search, which provides me useful information at the earliest vis-a-vis getting trained to use a specialized simulation software.
First and foremost, dont we us internet for gathering information rather than socialising? So getting anyinformation represented by words or figures is easy and fast rather than trying to get the same by way of 3d graphics which will surely be slow. Again examples of warcraft or similar platforms do not logically make sense, because we need to interact with real people not with fake identies and i bet that this is not going to happen in near future until mankind has gone insane. Hence i conclude INTERNET in its esence as a platform for sharing information as text and images will remain for a long time to come than anyone could think of, graphics are cool but they wont rule.

Bang on! Most of us use Internet as a means to accomplish something useful by obtaining relevant info. Social interaction, though a large part, is still only a part of what Internet is, and definitely couldn't be pivotal to Internet's all-encompassing future.

This is what is ideal for you and me.
But for the kids who are addicted to gaming and who will become the future internet users, graphics is the only thing.
They are being trained not to socialise. For them the real world is the computer world. The rest of the outside world is too difficult and dangerous to even acknowledge, let alone live in.

Without wedding no one will born in this world. We are not animal to talk about below standard things about common phenomenon, that is marriage, it is bond between two consented souls. I understand, we normally never discuss un-consented marriages happen in communities where people almost act like raping wife. Rediff is one sided not discussing about another religion marriages too in the sections to get views of readers.
