India is on the trail of making a fashion statement globally. As Pradeep Hirani says "To go global, you have to leverage your brand image and brand association", very much true. But the time is ripe for us to give fashion industry its due impetus and take it to the world forum rather than confining ourselves to local fashion shows to promote products, people, etc. To compete with big stalwarts like Prada, Gucci and fight Paris, New York in fashion designing, is a tougher task. In this era of Globalisation and homogenised markets, Indian fashion industry should change their brand image and improve their skills and design to meet to the international standards, which generates much acceptance and blending with rest of the world.
Today's garment exports business is not like the phase this business had in 1990's govt. not giving any kind of benifits to exporters infact drawback % is also reduced to 6% in garments which was 21% in 1990's...We need some benifits from India Govt to look into this sector and do something which is good for each.
Govt need to take some action so that we get more and more orders from other countries,we shd not allow any export order to go to other countries. China is doing great in exports , why our govt shd not take some initiative to follow them.
