American companies do not know a thing about HR

I have been in the US for nearly fifteen years and from what I have seen heard and experiences, I can say most American companies do not have respect for human talents. They consider human resources no more than (or probably treat even worse than) machines. Buy one day and dump next day. Most companies do not have good long term and uniform policies on training the employees. They are too reactive to the short term business trends to please Wall Street -- no long term strategies. If the business slows down they won't mind dumping their best contributor for years -- nor do they wink their eyes to hire the same person again again after a short time at thrice the salary if they find that his/her talent is required.
With this kind of short term myopic strategies, many if not most American companies will loose their busienss to the wiser eastern counter parts in the long run provided the eastern companies which today have better long term HR strategies, reamin wise without aping their western counterparts. (Yes short term gains from Hire and fire practices is too attractive like forbidden apple)
