It was an impressive and interesting introduction. Being a Mallu myself slogging in the Middle East for the last one and a half years (though not in Dubai, and not in a Marble Shop!), I could catch the subtle undertone (and the chill in your spine!) when u said u could have ended up having the same fate of those millions...good one.
The author seems to have lost his sense. First of all, he does not know the value of money. And he does not know how to earn it. Common people in Dubai and in most part of India or elsewhere earn their bread in hard work - not the way he explained. He must have got a foul to finance his adventure.
Second, he does not speak the language for common people to understand. Borrowing some hard vocabulary does not impress any one. The language (English or any other language) is to communicate and if it is not easily understood by the listeners, it is useless. You have to listen to President Abdul Kalam's speaches.
And it seems he did not have time to know the scores of multi-millioners of Keralites in Dubai.
you might have flew in first class and stayed in THE finest hotel but that doesn't qualify you to characterize or generalize your mallu brothers. When you write about a high end car, write it in style. First, learn to be a respectful person and then you go learn some professional journalism and come back to write columns. when you write about a car, stick to the subject. We dont give a **** about how you were different from your brothers. learn the basics.
