In 2009, the global fine art auction declined by USD 3.7 bn & was only half the 2007 auction total (2009 Market Trends, published by Art Price). Post 2010, we have estimated a growth rate of 29%. This rate has been calculated using indicative macro economic trends which positively co-related to art market growth such as (GDP growth rate: IMF & World Bank, Luxury Market growth rate: Bain & Company, HNI growth rate: Merrill Lynch & Cap Gemini report):

the old master category has been regarded as conservative and less fashionable until recently, when it has started receiving renewed interest as a potentially less volatile sector in which to invest . this i speak from personal experience masters such as Raza and Souza can never let you or your money down. cheers...
