not just every iitian, gandhi, everything in this world is gift of god! :) this man is too myopic in his view..
as a phd student at one of the finest university in the world, i've know that beating the drums of jactation will never lead you to be happy in your life.. Find peace with yourself, your community and be happy..
no one is perfect, but everyone can try to be so.. for trying, you dont need a degree certificate from iit.. all you need is a pure heart and open mind..
for the iitians who are attending Pan IIT meet, the person who is presiding over your meeting (PM/President of India) or the spiritual guru you are all learning from (Sri Ravishankar), are neither alumni of iit.. :)
live simple.. show humility and spread knowledge.. know that its not you, or your name, but the knowledge which is immortal... so lead a life in persuit of knowledge and refrain from making baseless comments...
I am an IITian myself and just by clearing one JEE exam does not make one a gift of God to world.. What have IITians done other than make money for themselves. How many IITians have come up with really good ideas that have changed the world. IITians are just good enough to be employeed as servants in some MNC nothing more.. I request the writer of this article to face reality
It is amazing to read the angry/harsh comements on the article. Goes to prove that a lot of people read/listen to respond rather than to understand! I have known Shailesh for almost 40 years now. He was a classmate and is a good friend of mine as well. He is a humble person and does not tout himself. He stated that "IIT'ians THINK that they are God...."; he did not state that he agreed. He gave up his business and has dedicated himself to help India and Indians. I do not know how many of us can claim that (including myself). RTI has been his latest effort to help the country and a sustained effort at that. We would be a lot better off if we try to understand what is being mentioned. If any of you folks who are critical, ever meet Shailesh, I assure you that you will regret your statements.
I am always been proud of India's educational standards especially IIT and all those who are IITians. But this time, reading this article made a negative impact on me. Though the intensions are good, the tag on the visiting card : "Mera Bharat Mahan. . . Nahin Hain / Par Yeh Dosh Mera Hain" is pasimistic.
How about "Mera Bharat Mahaan....Hoga / Mai Banaunga" This sounds optimistic and a hope hidden within ourself.
I would like to conclude with a song that everyone knows " Hum honge kaamayaab.....Ek din"
Somehow I'm not able to digest anything which is said by all so called gurus of IITs. IIT is definitely a great institute but one thing is for sure that it doesn't produce the best people by default. The point to consider is that the selection procedure itself is so difficult that only few guys can get a seat there but once they are in IIT, I'm sure that they get pretty laidback in approach. I've been working with several IITians for all my life and I must tell you that they are worse than many others coming from RECs or other colleges because once the guys are in IIT, they consider the goal achieved and don't work as hard as they can. I agree on one point that their logics are sound and they have strong physics and maths knowledge but that's only bcoz they tend to grasp everything to get a seat. I'm not denying that IITians contributed a lot to various sectors but they are only few (30% of total IITians) and above all it used to be 10-20 yrs ago and current crop is nowhere near to be called PERFECTIONIST.
