This can never happen in (our) India..

First of all, the Quad road project is still pending from so many years and is not complete yet. All the plans and deadlines in India will remain only on papers but not otherwise. If at all this projects kicks off (even to kick off this would take at least few years), surely will take couple of decades.

Little Malysia has the means, know-how, capacity and capability to win and finish international contracts worth billions, compared to India's larger economy and huge population with so many natural advantages - unlimited low-cost skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled labor, abundant pool of 'brilliant' professionals like engineers, planners, architects, quantitiy surveyors etc, yet who are nowhere on the international scene, because of successive Cong govt's stupid regulations and self-defeating communist policies which had hobbled and emasculated the private sector, preventing them from becoming world-class corporations - barring IT and Telcos, which are only very recent phenomena.

ROADS IN INDIA
by D S Gill on Aug 18, 2006 08:50 AM

I have read the news about "An All India Express Highway". It is unfortunate that nothing is happening in India and Government of India cannot do anything except for planning. The NH 8 Delhi Gurgaon project was launched with a lot of publicity and our government and other authorities could not build a 16 kms of road. Petrol worth millions of rupees is wasted daily on this road because of traffic jams and the inconvenience caused to the common people. People have to wait for hours in their cars.

I had some relatives from Europe who had to walk upto the Indira Gandhi International Airport from the border of Haryana just to catch their late night flights. I am sure they would have missed their flight had they not taken this decision of walking. They had planned to open a call centre in Gurgaon with 250 seats working 24 X 7 X 365. I am sure this would have given employment to around 1000 people but they have decided not to invest in India.
