There is NO language called 'Chinese'. The major languages spoken in mainland China are Mandarin and Cantonese, along with many others. Mandarin is the official language, and it is that language which Indians are learning.

I think this is a great news and begining. We must product which sell in market. Indian Government should instruct all the institutes for including at least one foreign language from school to degree. We Indian must give attention to Spanish also as it widely spoken more than French or German. In short we should give priority to these language in this priority Chinese, Spanish, French, German and Japanese ... anyway English is no more foreign language :)

this is true that narsee monjee institute of management studies has made chinese language available.But it is only for the students of pharmaceutical management,for them it is a 2 yr compulsory course,involving reading,writing and speaking chinese.

Indians don't learn Chinese - they learn Mandarin..thats like saying the Americans are learning Indian !!!
