Gowda is right
by Rajeev on Oct 27, 2005 10:58 AM  | Hide replies

Compared to all IT industry investment in Karnataka. Infosys is just a part. But it has grabed a lot of fertile land. Infosys generate jobs of Brahmin community not for other communities. Let them come up with how many kannada speaking non Brahimin community has been provide jobs at Infosys. If they are daring to state out this then only one can consider Mr. Gowda as wrong. Untill then just giving out figures of aquired land and jobs provided and etc., etc., will not make Infosys Murty right.

Let him compare his contribution to the state of Karnataka compared to Wipro, Honeywell, and other IT companies and then prove himself that he has not grabed land compared to other and clarify his investments as the highest with comparision to other companies then the state will be proud of Mr. Murthy not otherwise .

Bangalore is not dependent on Murthy..
Neither Bangalore Airport............

Karnataka is not Murthy dependent

Farmers of Karnataka made Bangalore prosper and they will

Mudde Gowda
Gowda vs Murthy
by Mudde Gowda on Oct 27, 2005 10:55 AM

I remember reading Mr. Murthy saying that he admires the traffic police, who stand in sun, rain, wind to serve the people and donated a couple of vans to them. I wonder whether Mr. Gowda would have donated even a cycle to the policemen keeping a vigil on him/his family/residence day in and day out.

Ofcourse, a businessman does legal business to earn a living / take care of his family and it is shame on our part and govt to expect them to serve the society. Being a good samaritan like Mr. Murthy has done what little he could do to the society. I dont remember Mr. Gowda doing anything to this country except attending various functions and alleging others of corruption, when he himself is doused in it. As Indians, we should pity ourselves that we are under politicians like Singh, Gowda, Krishna, Sonia, Lalu and thousand others. I donot see a single politician in this country doing a legal business to earn all the wealth they have accumulated. infact not a single politician does promptly file his income return as opposed to the prompt filing of income by IT professionals. At last, it is even shameful that whatever politician utter becomes great news in this country!

it is a shame that stature of Sri. N.R.Narayan Murthy is being belittled by none other than mr. deve gowda.

the contribution done by Murthy for India in general and Karnataka in particular is monumental and does not require any enlisting. if banglore has got any name and fame it is because of IT czars like him. he is instumental getting many into expatriation.

while what mr. gowda has done is nothing but bringing shame to already tainted politics. mud sleding ex-cheif minister(S.M.Krishna); belittling a compasssionate and belovent person's contribution(Naryana MUrthy), dosing in front of cameras when he was PM or digging nose etc.

first let him list his contribution. No wondera crow is calling the kettle black.

SAVE BANGALORE

Hi,
This is a message to all the people concerned, lets not debate on who is right, since we all know the honorouble Ex-Prime minister who has become the defacto spoil sport for Bangalore.Mr Devegouda is involved in everything to make money for his kith & kin.He has benami estates, has floated a housing company, has acres of land on Mysore high way & Devenhalli, He has not acquired all this by hard work like NR Murthy but by playing the game of Politics. He is now trying to create a urban-rural divide & try to form a rural votebank. So what if people loose out to IT jobs in Bangalore to Hyderabad or Chennai or Calcutta or Timbuktoo.Mr Devegouda's concern is to be play dirty games in Politics and so what if roads are bad, he's got a helicopter to use.We the common man need to be concerned on all this , be it jobs or roads or airport or metro rail.Mr Devegouda will continue his tirade & the congress will invite this disgracefull man to be the Chief guest, God bless Congress & the Prime minister of Bangalore.

Gowda - The Bufoon of Indian Politics
by Mahendra Prasad on Oct 27, 2005 10:10 AM

He was only a qualified CM. It was first of all wrong making him PM. From that day onwards, he has gone psychiatric. It is evident from his behaviours inspite holding the highest office, now he is just making fun in politics and some how or the other he wants to be in the lime light. Better quit and rest at home and itz high time he should play with his grand children and great grand children. He is only fit for this now. He is fit to be laughed at. A Bufoon of Indian Politics. Better he should shut his mouth for the betterment of the State and Country. I vote wrong for Devvada Gowda. A Ghost. Ha Ha Hs.

Murthy is irresponsible
by day on Oct 27, 2005 10:06 AM  | Hide replies

Mr. Gowda has all the rights to question Mr. Murthy about his contributions to bangalore, but Murthy felt guilty about his contribution and resigned, if he has really done some thing he could have politely answered to gowda.

Murthy was not responsible for the whole IT industry
by Pratap on Oct 29, 2005 09:29 AM
How can one say that Murthy is responsible for the the present state of the IT industry. Infosys is basically an Outsourcing company and they run after American companies for contracts. It is the American companies which decide who gets the contract so all of you remember that it is the americans who emply you and Murthy and his management team are a bunch of brokers. During the 80's and 90's Americans wanted to cut costs and that is the reason that promted them to outsource. And companies like TCS, Infosys and Wipro were lucky to be there at that time. And who the hell is Murthy to run the GOVT by proxy. If he wants to serve the people let him fight it out in the elections and make his voice heard. Do other Chairmen / "Chief Mentors" indulge in such petty bad mouthing of their cities. During Mumbai floods did Relience or Tata Executives indulge in bad mouthing their cities infrastructure. It would have been nice to have spoken to the Govt in closed doors rather than hit out on politicians.
This shows that Murthy is truely a Software broker. Only thing in his mind is to make more money. He can contribute millions to Cornell and not a Single cent to the city that made him Money.

Who's Right?
by Narayan on Oct 27, 2005 09:56 AM

It is quite evident. Anyone who would vouch for Mr Gowda, please look into his contributions.
Murthy started Infy in 80-81's and in a span of about 10-15yrs, made India, the destination for IT outsourcing. Most of the foreign dignitaries who visit India, fly directly to Infy campus in Blore and meet NRN, even evading the CMs and PMs. This itself shows how respected this man is.
On the contrary, we have a former PM, who has the distinction of not having completed a full term in any office that he held. The Son of the Soil, anything that is related to Land is dear to him. He should introspect and look at what his contribution has been to his own dist of Hassan and Kanakapura constituency, which are still in such an undeveloped state! It is a widely known open secret that all the development done by him are only on his family.
He blasts the media for frowning upon a former PM. Sir, has anyone heard of IK Gujral, AB Vajpayee, VP SIngh, CHandrashekar, PVN, indulging in such power hungry comments? They are dignified and hence respected.

Let us put an end to this debate, we all know who clearly is the winner...
Narayan

Developement Vs Petty Politics
by Jayprasad on Oct 27, 2005 09:45 AM

This topic is relevant in the wake of complete infrastructure breakdown in Bangalore during last week's rain. Deve Gowda is playing petty politics. Why is he silent of the properties that he and his family own in and around bangalore? He just want to project his image as a 'Saviour of Farmers'. But we realize that this govt in karnataka has done nothing either for the rural or urban region. The infrastructure in both regions are pathetic. Gowda just want to play petty politics keeping in mind the forthcoming Zilla parishad polls and state polls if this govt breakdown. He want to give the farmers and poor people false belief that he's working for them by passing comments against 'idustrialists'. When he slams IT companies about their contibution, has he thought about the indirect employments that this industry has created in B'lore? Just the head count in IT companies cannot become criteria for their contribution.
The govt is weak and they want to blame someone for their failure. And thats what we see now a days. Instead of counting on the contibution from Private companies to the city, let the govt count their contribution. And each citizen (taxpayers) has the right to know.

Murthy is Right
by Subramanya on Oct 27, 2005 09:37 AM

Gowda's Politics in picture again.
There is no reason in debating who is right.
Mr.Gowda wants to be in name and fame in newpaper as panchayat elections are in near future. He has targetted IT to capture rural votes.
